His mouth was as dry as a bone. He had to speak, somehow, say hello to his daughter. She was his. It was like looking into a mirror. As if he knew what she thought as if they had an invisible wire between them transferring each tiny molecule of all they were from one to the other. They both smiled at the same time, and then she was in his arms, feeling relief and as if they were both complete.

Slowly and slowly while looking at him I stopped feeling the sparks of his touch on mine. But before I could close my eyes and go to hell forever ,I saw water droplets falling from the sky. He said, "I don't give a shit about the Crawfords' issues. It's my daughter's birthday today. All I want to do is celebrate it in peace. "You guys can do whatever you want to take your money back, but on one condition," he said, glancing at me suddenly. I was shaking and shivering in place. "You're not allowed to lay a finger on Belinda. As for the rest of her family, do whatever you want." Aston then looked at Hailey affectionately and said, "Don't be upset anymore, Hailey. I'll take you out to celebrate your birthday and make it up to you, alright?"

The air itself seemed to bend away from her. "Tamara?" Kai called out, reaching for her. She looked at him. No recognition in those silver eyes. He was just another shape. Another piece of this broken world. "THE BRIDGE SEES ALL. THE BRIDGE FEELS ALL. THE BRIDGE WILL END ALL SUFFERING." "That's not Tamara anymore," Derek said quietly. "That's the Lunar Blessed. The transformation is complete." Through the mate bond, Kai felt... nothing. The warm presence that was Tamara had gone cold. Like touching ice. Like reaching for someone who wasn't there.

Please make your choice. The prompt came again. I closed my eyes and made up my mind. "I'm going home." There was nothing left here worth staying for, no one left worth saving. [Exchange complete. Passage home will now open.] As the words settled, the sky shifted. A crimson glow spread overhead as the earth began to tremble, a deep rumble rolling beneath our feet. Ethan smiles, squeezes my hips, and launches into an explanation. “There’s a Children’s group called Heaven’s Blessings, that takes in sick and orphaned children. Two of their children have been through our program before but I keep my eye on them and get them the help they need when they need it. You will check in with the administrator to see if they have any children who need help,” he tells me, making me wonder if he has letters from an of these kids.

"Don't let others ruin the mood. We're here to celebrate Rachel's success." I raised my glass with a smile. "Yes, here's to a bright future." The End.

The grief that once consumed me was gone, instead replaced by a strange sense of peace. Then, my father suddenly looked up, almost like he could see me. He broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. "Adeline… my sweetheart… is it really you? Did you see it? We did it. We made her pay. Can you ever forgive us?" My mother crawled up from the floor, tears streaming down her face as she reached toward me. "Adeline, you came back to see me, didn't you? I miss you so much. In the next life, please come back as my daughter again. I promise I'll make it up to you. I'll love you the way I should have this time."

He extended his hand towards me, eyes brimming with love and tenderness, and I took his hand with a smile. "Of course, my husband." The church bells sang, proclaiming the start of a new chapter, a new beginning. There, Steven and I exchanged a kiss, deep and unreserved. Far off in the distance, on a quiet bridge, a lone figure turned around and melted into the crowd. Some people, once missed, are missed for a lifetime. My life… No longer had anything to do with him.

she said in an almost frenzied tone. “Whoa, whoa. Slow down, honey. Your scientist side is coming out again,” Matthew said, reaching out to put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. There was a hint of teasing in his tone, but overall, he sounded serious enough to consider her real concerns. “Yes, that is a possibility. But I find it hard to believe that we’ve been given this second chance only to have it turn out into a bad way. I choose to believe that we were given this miracle just so we could live a happier life.”
