“Oh, it wasn’t meant to be, me and Davy. A couple months before the wedding, I woke up in bed alone. We had this tiny apartment. You would have hated it. One bathroom with a broken sink, a twin bed, stained carpet. We were looking at other places for after the wedding. We’d been saving. I thought we were on all the same pages. We always had been.
