cursed Kyunghee was annoyed at Haekyo who was currently groaning in pain on the floor because he had just been hit by a few books that fell from the bookshelf in the lounge. Hana who saw this then immediately helped Haekyo to get up and sat the man on a chair. "I-I'm so-sorry. I stumbled on the carpet while I was picking up the story book," said Haekyo feeling guilty while pointing to a thick gray book containing a collection of fairy tales. “You idiot. How old are you now that you still like reading children's stories full of deceit like that. You should read stock charts or business books. You idiot!" shouted Kyunghee is merciless.

”It’s about you. “Me?” “Ja, you are a popular subject.” “That's too silly of a joke.” I look after her moment. Me, popular? “I don’t like liars, Hidi.” “You don't believe me?” Hidi gasps as if hurt. “No. You are trying to make fun of me- I won’t fall for it.” “You don't notice much, do you?” “I think I'm fairly observant.” “If it's a book, ja.” Hidi motions to the pile of books on my desk.

Damn, Freckles. The first book I pulled out was called “Images You Should Not Masturbate To”. I snorted, flipping through a couple of pages and shaking my head. That sarcastic streak of hers ran deep. I grabbed another, the title catching my eye: “How to Traumatize Your Children: 7 Proven Methods to Help You Screw Up Your Kids Deliberately and with Skill.” I let out a short laugh, one that came from somewhere I’d almost forgotten existed. Then there were the others—Fancy Coffins to Make Yourself, Do-It-Yourself Coffins for Pets and People, and, for good measure, How to Raise Your IQ by Eating Gifted Children. I shook my head, glancing back at her still sleeping form.

"Mr Philip sent me to give this to you." "Thanks." I collected the book to inspect the front cover, while he showed off some dimples. The book had a raccoon as it's display photo. The raccoon looked thrilled to bits with both hands up and mouth open like it was shouting. The background was yellow, it had the words, 'furiosly happy' boldly written on it. Under the book title, there were word too that said, 'a funny book about terrible things' written in smaller font, while the author's name was Jenny Lawson.

I open the box, and pull out the first book, and I frown even harder because it is titled - Your Dad Will Do, by a Katee Robert. Feeling realy confused, I pull out the second - Priest, by a Sierra Simone, these books are giving me a certain vibe. I pull out another, laughing at the incredulous title - Does It Hurt, by an H.D Carlton, feeling really curious, I open a random page, and frown as I try to make sense of the scene. I gasp as I begin to make sense of it, my mouth falls open at the full realization of what it actually is, the book falls out of my hand with a resounding thud.

My first stop was the romance section, hoping to find a few good books to take back to my room for some relaxing reading. As I scanned the titles, one in particular caught my eye: The Toad and Her Man. The title alone made me burst into laughter. It was so absurdly funny that I couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of what the story might entail. I decided to add it to my growing stack of books.

The chill drenched into my bones, and I shivered. Zack stood at the entrance, his smile sardonic. He clapped his hands, and the maids got the message. They grabbed the snow off the ground and made snowballs. Then they hurled the snowballs at us. The snowballs exploded the moment they came in contact with our skin. The chill seeped in worse than ever. This was humiliating. It almost felt like I was a toy. I struggled and thrashed around. "Stop! They're Wendy's parents!"

Amber paused as she tried to form sentences but April burst into laughter and Amber frowned when she saw April laughing like that. April was laughing so hard that she was clutching her stomach. Amber looked at her and frowned, while Ashley was baffled as well, and Amber asked, “Why are you laughing like that? Did I say something funny?” April wiped a tear from her eyes and said, “of course, that was a nice joke, the guardian? The werewolf? Oh my god, Amber, just what books are you reading? I mean, it was really a nice joke, and I was trying my best to hold back my laughter, but on my god! When I saw your serious expression, I just couldn’t take it.” April said as she kept on laughing.

“Quiet doesn’t mean unbothered. Just good at hiding it.” We fell into silence. The only sound was distant thunder rumbling above ground. I wondered how long we’d be down here. Minutes stretched. My mind wandered to how close he was. How alone we were. “Tell me something,” I said finally. “Why’d you become a librarian? You don’t seem like the type who likes being stuck behind a desk all day.” Mr. Kane exhaled softly. “Books don’t talk back. They don’t expect small talk. I like the order. And the stories. What about you? History major with a focus on obscure trade? That’s not common.”

Luca drawls, his voice just loud enough for Elijah to hear, “what do you call a werewolf that’s also a librarian?” I glance at him, intrigued but suspicious. “I don’t know. What?” “A fur-midable opponent for anyone who returns their books late.” It’s so cheesy that I can’t help but burst out laughing. Luca grins wider, clearly satisfied with himself. I cover my mouth, trying to stifle the laugh, but it’s too late. I’m doubled over, shaking with amusement, the ridiculous joke breaking through all the tension that had been swirling around me. And that’s all it takes.
