For once, I wasn’t trying to hide.
People were watching. Glancing up from their glossy shopping bags to look at me. Their expressions were unreadable, but most of them were familiar. Prominent pack members, respected wolves, elite heirs of bloodlines.
I froze.
But Damian didn’t let me stay in that spiral. He stepped behind me and held out a small black box.

Inside was a necklace. A thin silver chain with a tiny moonstone pendant. It shimmered faintly, like it held stardust.
