The invisible blast hit the center of the Unbound vanguard. Dozens of the massive wolves collapsed, whimpering in sudden, paralyzing agony. The sonic wave was forcing the quartz plates in their fur to vibrate at a lethal frequency. I watched in horror as hairline fractures began to form along their armored spines. Silas was trying to shatter them from the inside out. Killian roared, fighting against the crushing pressure of the soundwave. He dug his claws into the earth, his silver eyes locking onto the lead truck. He could not reach it in time. The sonic field was too dense, acting like a physical wall of agony.

Meanwhile, we’re out here, miles from the protective warm barrier, throwing rocks like two bored children who wandered away from a very cold daycare center. Valen launches one rock across the valley floor. It cuts through the frigid air so fast it audibly breaks the sound barrier, blasting out a tiny sonic boom that cracks and echoes violently off the towering mountain walls. I swear the compacted snow actually trembles beneath my boots from the force.

The sky to the south tore open. It wasn't a metaphor. The clouds were literally sheared apart by the sonic boom of something moving at Mach 5. "Incoming bogeys!" Marcus yelled, tracking the radar on his HUD. "Multiple contacts! Fifty... no, a hundred! They're moving too fast for standard propulsion!"

It happened so abruptly and without warning. As such, none of them had time to react to it. They could only hear the piercing noise of a sonic boom. As the one being targeted, Octavius sensed a huge threat that sent a shiver down his spine for just a brief moment, and he felt his heart stop. He realized quickly that he could not dodge it, so with no hesitation, he pulled at the master fighter next to him and used the man as a human shield.

Suddenly, they had become the prey and threatened; but guns were clasped tightly, each man maintaining his stance,under shivering hands, weight on the shoulder, overwhelmed by the terror of the night, in anticipation for the order. A line of smile spread across his lips as he parted his jaws, letting his fangs visible to the eyes of the already phobia-submerged. He howled into the moon, but he was alone. He didn't need anyone, and he was ready. Then… ««CRACK!!!»» a sonic boom, as the projectile stirred through the air at supersonic speed Heart beats slowed, a deep inhale and exhale of smoke through his mouth and nose, the sound was almost piercing.

I’m going to die! The feeling of impending doom grew the closer I got to the water- which was pretty fast considering I was going at terminal velocity off of a hundred foot cliff in a dress and heels. I braced for impact as my body plunged into the freezing cold waters. My face and skin stung as the water met each other, like when you cannonball into a swimming pool. The stinging only lasted for a second before subsiding. Okay, I survived the initial fall. If I can get to the surface fast enough, maybe I won’t die from hypothermia.

Bang. ‎ ‎The bullets hit me. ‎ ‎They flattened against my fur. They didn't even break the skin. ‎ ‎I threw my head back and howled. ‎ ‎It wasn't a wolf's howl. It was a sonic boom. A shockwave of pure sound and magic exploded from my throat. ‎ ‎BOOM. ‎ ‎Every piece of glass in the room shattered instantly. The beakers. The monitors. The windows. ‎ ‎The lights exploded, showering the room in sparks.

Five bodies. We watched the horizon. We waited. Then, a subsonic pulse originated from the dunes. It traveled through the ground, vibrating the metal skeleton of the skyscraper. I felt it in my molars. It was a distant, heavy thump. It was followed by a high-pitched shriek. The air molecules were displaced. A thin, sharp whistle cut through the night air, causing a stinging sensation in my ear canals. The pitch rose higher and higher. It was the sound of the atmosphere being torn apart by mass.

I couldn't find the words to describe it. "Destructive sonic waves?" Bruno asked to which I just nodded. "Yeah, that! Destructive." I answered him. "So... An ultrasonic scream?" Claire asked no one in particular "I'll call it a Hypersonic scream. Ultrasounds should be too high for humans to hear." Bruno corrected, standing up from his seat beside Abigail's bed. "Werewolf hearing?" Claire argued, making me look between the two of them in confusion. These were too much information for my tiny brain to process.

The horned ice-beast lets out a shattering, sub-zero roar that causes the surrounding snowy peaks to groan with the threat of an avalanche. The sonic shockwave hits our sled like a physical wall, rattling the iron runners against the packed snow and sending a shower of razor-sharp icicles cascading down from the cavern's upper ledge.
