“We saw someone bolt west—dark hoodie. Couldn’t catch him.” “Of course not,” I growled, standing. “He doesn’t need to outrun you. Just outthink you.” Kael’s voice came through my earpiece. “Malrick—we found more fur in the crawl space. And blood. Not just his.” I froze. “What?” Kael’s voice dropped. “I think he was with someone.” The rage hit like a switch flipping in my chest. Not because we were close. But because he was slipping out of our hands again.

“Drink, and be free, and unclaimable forever. Or go back to him, half free, maybe claimable someday, but in chains by tomorrow noon.” The pool waited. Jax waited, bleeding, half inside a circle that was killing him just to hold onto me. And outside, closer now, growing louder by the second, I heard Harlan’s trucks roaring to life, Kaden’s broken howl rising over the engines, and Mordecai’s soft voice on a phone, calm as anything. “Yes, Council. We found her. Full White. At the Old Oak. Bring silver. Bring a lot.”

"What about the howl? I heard it—from the window. Not one of ours." I tensed, ears pricking even in human form. The distant cry had echoed like a challenge, cutting through the rain's patter. "Scouts are checking. Could be stragglers... or reinforcements Hanlon called before he died." The thought gnawed at me—had we missed something? Thorne's confession under duress had been fragmented: bribes, spies, but no mention of external alliances. Yet Hanlon's reach extended beyond our borders—European packs, Asian syndicates, all hungry for a slice of Blackwood territory.

A few officers tried to block their path, but when the werewolf investigator caught sight of Andriel, he bowed his head and waved them through. The car that had carried Taylor and Stella lay flipped upside down, its windshield shattered and doors torn off. Andriel caught the scent of blood—Taylor’s blood. He crouched down, inspecting the wreckage inside, and found a phone, likely Taylor’s, and the small purse Stella had been carrying when she left. "Any sign of where they were taken?" Andriel asked as he stood, his voice colder than the wind whipping around them. "Not yet," Hugo replied. "But the local pack’s been alerted, and they’re watching for any suspicious activity."

He took another sip, slower this time, his eyes narrowing as he processed the failure. "So it leads nowhere," he stated flatly, the disappointment coloring his tone. "Currently, yes, Alpha," Harlan replied. "There is no traceable origin. No lineage, no pack affiliation. Nothing." Kael leaned back, his gaze hardening. "Continue." Harlan paused, a flicker of hesitation crossing his face before he pressed on. "There is another report. A patrol guard reported seeing someone in a black hoodie leaving the pack territory." The glass stopped halfway to Kael's lips.

She realised that not all werewolves were especially the small ones like me, who were known for being nurturing and kind. I told her why Alex and I were out here in the first place, and she offered to help me find the body that Alex insisted was buried out here. We were up to our waists in the hole, but no sign of the smoking gun. I could smell it. It was down here, blending with the earth. I had to find it before the earth reclaimed whatever was left. “There!” Sue shouted. “A skull.” My blood ran cold. “It looks human,” Sue said.

Henry began “Shaun, alex and Seth were sent through about three days ago to find a rouge Hunter-Soul and haven’t returned yet. I’ve gotten permission from The Prince to go find our men but he wants to go with. That’s not the most interesting part though. We seem to have a human who has just hit Trigger.” “That’s awesome! What trigger?” Said the black wolf that had now dried out and had now turned back to his human form. He was the youngest of the five and usually found most things to be awesome. “All you need to know is a human is dead but hasn’t stayed that way kid.” Lilly quickly added when she knew Henry wasn’t sure how to explain the situation.

Just about hours when my mother died, my auntie, who is Polo’s husband, and Rendall’s mother died too. Her body was found near the lake and the lower body was also shattered into pieces. I saw Polo grieve and then go back to hunt the one who killed her wife and he also promised to kill the werewolf that killed my mother. The hunt failed and the werewolves they killed have no idea about what happened. After a week of grieving, I tried to be useful in the house by bringing woods for the fireplace. Polo and Finn are on the beer stalls and Rendall, who has the same age as mine is still sleeping. While gathering the dried branches, I heard a small rustle.

Sawyer greets the tall thin woman with jet black hair and a stern as stone expression. “Detective Sawyer. Who is your friend?” Aurora asks. “Detective Huck,” Huck steps forward to shake her hand. “My husband will rip your arms off if you touch me,” Aurora tells him turning around. They follow her to the office. “Detectives I understand your here to discuss two memebers?” Nelson looks up but doesn’t stand. “Do you have them in custody?” “No in the morgue,” Sawyer tells them. “We found them in the lot behind the old plant. Their throats were ripped out.”

Suddenly, howls rented the air What could be going on. Lucien noticed my state of panic and rushed towards me "Relax, it's nothing to be worried about" Several howls soon joined in "Then why are they howling?" "It's kind of pretty good new infact" "What news?" "The alpha has finally found and marked his Luna"
