The Beta's Contract Mate
She mumbles something about being sorry, and there’s a frown on her face.
“You’re safe, Kitty cat,” I whisper, bringing my lips to her face. But as soon as my lips touch her skin, her eyes snap open and she rolls off the bed.
“Oh, my God. Did I hurt you? Are you okay?” She asks, her big brown eyes drifting all over my face, shimmering with tears, but I smile.
“You didn’t go home?”
She shakes her head, tears rolling down her face. Her eyes look puffy, and there are dark circles. She must have been crying. Probably scared, she lost the only person to help her sister. But she doesn’t know it takes more than a fucking rogue to take me out.
