Recognizing the screaming kitty’s voice, I ran to my room to check what was wrong. Only for me to open the door and get startled by a terrified Kitty, who jumped right into my hold. “Kitty, what happened?” I asked, holding him close. That’s when I looked closely and found Cadell growling at Kitty, with his silver eyes glowing!

“Wait… Are you scared of cats?” “No, I am not,” I say firmly, keeping as much distance as I can. Her brows lift. “Then why did you just jump away like that?” “I didn’t jump—” “Oh, look, kitty, seems like the great Kyle Sinclair is scared of you,” she teases in a baby voice. The cat meows as if agreeing with her. “For the record, I am not scared of cats,” I grumble. “And I did not jump away.” I point at the thing still nestled in her arms. “That thing is dangerous.”

The beast let out a low, vibrating growl of interest, which quickly melted into a soft, confused whine when it saw the pup trembling. Then, the pup fell to his knees in the dirt, looking utterly defeated, before he forced himself back up to leave the clearing. The Lycan did not like that movement at all. Quickly setting down my "weapon," I held out my hand to the kitten, making my voice soft and coaxing. "Here, kitty. Don't be afraid, come here..."

Maybe that was supposed to scare me, but it didn't. "Then....." I started slowly. "Can I do it in private?" He clenched his jaws so hard and closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "Okay, okay, that was a joke. I won't do it again" I said quickly before he could give a reply. "Good" he said, after his gaze lingered on me for some seconds. "I'll be visiting my friend, Daddy," I said. "A guy?" He asked. "No, a girl. Laura" I replied.
