Some of it even splattered onto the door across my unit. Another wave of stench hit instantly. I couldn't possibly stay at home after that, so I headed out for breakfast instead. I'd barely taken two mouthfuls of oatmeal when my phone started vibrating nonstop. The residents' group chat was filled with messages. Unit 202's tenant was Shirley. Unit 202 sent the first message. [Who kicked over the food outside my door? Own up to it now. That was my family's food supply for the coming month.] Food supply?

Raven’s POV The rogues retreated and I took a deep breath. They outnumbered us but we came prepared and when they could no longer match up our strength they vanished. A message came at three in the morning. My phone lit up on the nightstand and the name on the screen made my stomach drop. Selene. I sat up quickly, my heart was already pounding before I opened it. The text was short. Old warehouse district. Midnight tomorrow. Just you and me, little sister.

I release the words slowly, in case he doesn’t understand basic information. His expression doesn’t change. He pulls out his phone, taps the screen, and turns it towards me. I stop in my tracks. It’s a photo. Raven. Sitting at a café, reading a book. She looks so engrossed in the book, her coffee untouched. Completely unaware of being watched. Ice slides down my spine. “Your friend has a very predictable routine,” he says, voice flat. ‘Coffee at Rosé’s every Tuesday and Friday. Yoga at 6 PM on Thursdays. She lives alone at Maple Street, apartment 4B.”

~Night in the North~ The band of the night anti-supernatural creatures were all set out all on standby against the time the enemy steps forth unaware of their secret formation and intentions. They are all following the lead of Raven. "Kai, can you hear me now?" Raven asked tapping the piece plugged to her ear. "Yes Raven. Very clear" "I'm with Delilah. Check with Archie and the rest. Any time from now, we might spot something fishy around. I think they are probably thinking of setting a trap for us tonight"

Elder Howard reminded them about it – and so, they did a surveillance of the said pack of rogues nearing their community. It was a crucial thing to do. And he was hoping to come back at the mansion before dinner. However, he couldn’t believe that it was too late when the pack of rogues appear. They were just hunting – and he and Hector immediately drove them away. It was just a short and peaceful conversation. The rogues wouldn’t want to make them their enemy. And it seemed like they were just new in their pack – that they didn’t know that the place was near the Moon Howlers Pack.

"Hello, and welcome to the neutral mansion. I am Raven." She didn't wait for a response, or even a polite acknowledgment from them. She walked straight past the staring advisors and took the seat at the head of the table that Valen had already designated as hers earlier that morning. Valen sat on her right, and I took the seat on her left.

Chapter 3: Lessons In Power: Raven woke up to soft knocking on the door. Her body was still on high alert, muscles coiled and ready to fight, but there was nowhere to run. The lock clicked open and Helen appeared with a breakfast tray. "Good morning, dear. Mr. Kane thought you might be hungry." The smell hit Raven first. Fresh coffee, warm bread, something that made her stomach clench with hunger. She hadn't eaten much at dinner, too busy cataloging escape routes and weapons.

I would look through the peephole but I'm too short to reach. I pull the door open to find five people on my porch. "Hello. My name is Becca," a short, dark haired woman speaks. She is just beautiful. "This is my husband, Scott and our children. Lisa, Matthew and Brandon. We are the Keaths across the street. It is very nice to meet you. We just came over here to welcome you to the neighbourhood. It is really nice to see a ne--- Damnit, Becca. Your scaring her." Becca speaks but Scott cuts her off. Entering was another young man around the same age as him, with grayish almond-shaped eyes that were almost covered by his dropped, wavy, copper-colored hair. It was Flynn, his one and only friend, a hacker, and the only person who knows his identity aside from his foster father James. "Hyde ma men, how is it going?" Flynn greeted him but eventually paused upon noticing his appearance.
