It’s what feeds the amulet’s magic.” Arah ran her thumb over the symbol, a strange hum of energy pulsing beneath her skin.

Recognition hit almost instantly. “That symbol…” she said quietly. “Yes.” Her face paled slightly. “It was in the vision.” Exactly. Not just in the massacre memory either. On armor. Banners. Rings worn by men standing behind Alpha Magnus. The room went very still. Serenya stepped closer. “What does it mean?” I kept reading silently for another moment before answering. “It means the massacre wasn’t isolated.” Kaelira stared at the symbol again. “This group existed before it happened.”

There are beautiful stain glass windows of the grand gothic architectural style, running parallel to each other on either side of the hall. Each window has different symbols on them, of which some I recognize. There is a picture of a moon and opposite it is an eclipsed moon. The next set has the sun and eclipsed sun, followed by a strophols and serpent. Another set had Isis with wings showing her transformation into a bird and opposite is of a scorpion.

I blinked. Wait, What?! He must be joking. My thoughts slowed. Vasska passed by me pretty quickly, leading us straight ahead. I almost laughed. Almost. Pompous ass. We turned a corner into a wide hall lined with banners — each one displaying a sigil: a black sun, a silver leaf, a green flame, a crescent moon, an iron hammer. Only one spot was empty — where the red fang should’ve been.

The ritual master opened the box and took out a blade: gold, shiny, with purple and black designs. He raised the blade high above his head and the moon’s light hit it, turning the black designs a stunning white and the purple turned a dazzling green. “White, a symbol of peace, green, a symbol of prosperity, but of all these, gold, the symbol of perfection, reigns supreme.” He handed the blade to Dante.
