One of them advanced, stepping into a beam of moonlight. My breath hitched. It was massive, like a wolf shifter, covered in reddish-black fur with a row of spikes along its spine. Saliva dripped from its mouth. The crimson glowing pupils flickered as if made of flame. A single word popped into my mind—Hellhounds.

The scene was pure chaos. Adrian was giving it everything, fighting the hellhound with sheer physical strength. The hellhound was ready to drag me with it back to where it came as it lunged forward with a speed rivaled by that of a vampire. I pulled the surrounding shadows, catching the hellhound midair as it jumped towards me. I hurled it hard and fast, making it hit a tree in the distance so hard that it knocked it over. The ground shook, and the woods came to life from the sound of the fallen tree.

My foot pressed against his throat. I growl in warning and he snarls back. I look at the side and see one of the hell hounds stalking towards me. It’s lips pulled back up over it’s teeth, saliva drips from it’s jaws and I smirk at it. Taking my foot off his throat. I hear a growl as the rogue turns his head slowly in the sound’s direction and gasps as the hell hound pounces on him, ripping him to shreds.
