I turned to look and saw a woman in a worn-out coat being held back by security.
Her hair was greasy, and her face was gaunt. She looked unhealthily thin, and her eyes were clouded. All in all, she looked rather pathetic.
But her eyes lit up when she saw me, and she charged desperately at me as if I were her lifeline.
"Caleb! It's me, Caleb!"
The security guards failed to stop her. She stumbled right up to me, and a sour, rotting odor hit me immediately. I instinctively took a step back, shielding the child behind me, my brows tightly furrowed.
