Just grass and dirt and that hollow look in his eyes. He doesn’t know I’m here. He never does. That’s the beautiful part. People always think you have to be invisible to go unnoticed. Like you have to hide, or dress in black, or creep around like a ghost. But that’s not true. You just have to look like you belong. Smile when they expect you to. Nod at the right moments. Laugh when everyone else does—even if your stomach twists while doing it. That’s how you blend in. That’s how you disappear in plain sight.

How she locks up herself in her room for a whole day, how she zones off while having breakfast and how she forces a smile whenever she is asked a question. I've studied her this much, but she confessed she noticed my pain too. How? I've trained myself from a young age. My smile has been my mask, a perfect way to hide my pain from the public. Even Chris wouldn't notice unless I opened up towards him. Then how was Felza able to notice my pain? I was rendered speechless by her words, and she laughed even harder, “It's not hard to notice. I feel like your smile is a mask you put on to hide your pain.”

He turned around and remarked, "You seem to have a lot on your mind. Want to talk about it?” I turned to look at him and noticed that the grin had vanished from his face. His expression now held genuine concern, which oddly eased me a bit. "Are you always this cheerful?" I inquired, but he simply grinned and laughed it off. "I wish I could be carefree like you, just laughing..." I trailed off, taking a deep breath as I gazed at the can of drink in my hand. "Smiling, without worrying about the things happening around me," And just then I felt a sudden hush fall between us before he sighed, saying, "Sometimes, smiles are worn to hide the pain inside.”

He had that mischievous smile that made my heart skip a beat, but there was something softer in his eyes tonight. “You don’t have enough pennies,” I teased, trying to hide the mix of emotions swirling inside me. Jake stepped forward, his movements deliberate, until he was standing right in front of me. His hands rested on the railing on either side of me, trapping me in the most delicious way. “Then tell me for free,” he murmured, his voice low and inviting. I shook my head, a smile tugging at my lips despite myself. “It’s nothing. Just…thinking about today. It didn’t exactly go as planned.”

I tried to hide my smile, turning away from her. "You know that's like the third one this week" she commented in amusement, signalling to my neck. That little shit. "Crap, is it really noticeable? I told him no more love bites," I said, distressed as I zipped my hoodie up fully in an attempt to hide them. "Nah, I just like annoying you, it's quite faint this time" she smirked, laughing to herself.

Erica said. Linda scoffed flinging her hair "you're just trying to cover up for that waitress and make her look innocent, I am not the bad person here you know." Erica was quiet, she took a deep sigh taking a long sip from the juice "really tasty, you should try it." "No thank you" Linda said shaking her head. She took a quick glance around and noticed that people were still staring at them, she smiled. Erica noticed she was smiling. "Why are you smiling?" She asked.

I notice her smile fading but then is quickly replaced with a fake smile – my heart hurts at the sight of it. “It is amazing , everyone is so nice” she says lowly. I can see that something is wrong but I do not want to push the subject. I will wait until she is ready to tell me. I approach my secret hide out but before appearing before it , I make her smile – a real smile – by saying , “Milady , I give to you something much better than a lake…Welcome to Xavier’s hide out”.

"Although you seldom smile, I know what things make you smile." "Really?" He raised his thick eyebrows. "Tell me." "When you tease someone, you smile. When you play a trick on someone, you smile. When you make a fool of someone, you smile an evil smile. When you are unhappy, you sneer coldly with your mouth closed, and..." Hazel trailed off and her eyelids flickered. When he looked at her like this, he smiled. His smile was real and very gentle.

There was an attraction, no doubt, but with someone like that, it didn't seem so confusing- so weird. He seemed to be looking around the diner, and I moved out of sight before our eyes met through the gap window. Not long after hiding, I heard the bell on top of the door ding again, indicating that he was leaving. Having inched back to the window, I looked out to see if he was in fact gone. And I was surprised. For he was looking directly at me through the glass window. And he smirked.

“How can it be bad? But even good can’t describe it alone…” Covering his face with one of his hands, I can see how he was smiling behind it. “Why are you hiding like that? Just like I thought, it is not good at all…” I pouted as I acted as if I was feeling bad, but in fact, I was just messing around with him and I knew he knows it too. Seeing how he has a complicated look on his face, now I feel bad. I giggle as I burst out laughing. Hah, this pure guy in front of me…
