I shouted. I didn't sit in the chair. I picked up the shard of the broken glass console. I didn't use the silver pen. I didn't use my blood. I looked at the Master-Chair—the heart of the Aethel-Group’s power. "I'm not the hero," I said. "And I'm not the goddess." I stabbed the glass shard into the **Center of the Light**. --- ### The Darkest Chapter The explosion wasn't made of fire. It was made of **Ink**.

I watched in awe as the houses and buildings began knitting themselves back together with that light, as the trees splintered and groaned until they stood tall again. I watched in awe as the fire burned out as if it had never been there, and then, as if the moment couldn’t be anymore incredible, I watched the blood on the ground next to the Darkwater members begin to shift and shiver until that blood was being drawn back inside the dead, and just as my head began to spin, the mother in the little boys arms took a long, deep breath, and then… I collapsed, swallowed by the darkness that Alec had rid Darkwater of entirely.

She began to chant, her voice steady despite the growing tension in her chest. The runes on the altar flickered, the wards weakening with each word. Suddenly, a sharp gust of wind swept through the clearing, and the temperature dropped. “They know we’re here,” Dylan muttered, his grip tightening on his weapon. Dark figures emerged from the shadows - corrupted creatures that looked like a cross between wolves and something far more sinister. Their glowing red eyes locked onto the group, and a guttural growl filled the air. “Protect Nicola!” Damien shouted, charging forward to intercept the creatures.

One pulled at the latch of a flat-surfaced pane, dragging it up where inside laid a flight of stairs that led down into utter darkness. Damon nodded at them before descending into it, the sound of his feet hitting the concrete floor resounded in the air. His hand found the socket, its exact location etched in his brain already so his fingers simply found it and he pulled the small rope that connected to the light bulbs, lightening the dungeon. He could hear from the farther distance the mangled cries of the vampires that had been held there over the years, lacking a blood meal and fed nothing but plain dishes. They were starved, weak, and still so stubborn.

Runes spread across the ground faster than flowing water. They stretched for hundreds of meters. Every symbol pulsed together. The beam of darkness reached me. It stopped. Suspended inches from my fingertips. The valley fell silent. Even the wind disappeared. The darkness trembled. Then... It began to unravel. Not pushed back. Unmade. Threads of black energy peeled away into glowing fragments. The Devourer's eyes widened. "Impossible." The last of the darkness dissolved into blue sparks. They drifted harmlessly into the air. No one moved.

The "Author’s Study" was a sanctuary of woodsmoke and old leather, a space that existed in the "Negative Space" between the stories. The shelves that stretched into the infinite were packed with "Bound Histories"—thousands of volumes titled THE BLACKWOOD PACK: SECTOR 4. Silas and Lyra stood on a rug of woven starlight, their forms slowly regaining their "Biological Density" in the presence of the Source.
