With a lot of time left, our group decided to head back to the hotel earlier and have extra free time. Everyone disappears the moment we arrive at the hotel and finally, Ms. Wilson and the tour guide leave us. With spare time on my hands, I ran upstairs to grab my book and run back down to sit on the couch. The thought of being able to snuggle up into my book warms my stomach as I wait for Leah to get back. My thoughts get lost into the book, and slowly, I take no notice of what's going on behind me. I've fallen deep into the world of the South during the Civil War. There was too much going on in the book that I found myself vigorously flipping through the pages.

Too bad because I'd have worn one. He has two books on his nightstand. One is a business book that I'll admit sounds thoroughly boring. The other is Lincoln and His Admirals by Craig Symonds. I've read several Lincoln biographies and other books about the Civil War but not this one. I pick up the hardcover and hate the fact that my Nook reader is back in my apartment. I'd love nothing more than a good murder thriller right now.

Sitting at her desk Tuesday evening, Leesa flipped the cover of her history book closed. For the last half hour she had been studying the causes of the Civil War, but she didn’t think she was going to retain much of what she read. Every time she came across Abraham Lincoln’s name, her mind wandered to the popular book and movie about Lincoln being a vampire hunter. With all she had learned since arriving at Weston, she wondered if it could possibly have been true. She doubted that Lincoln had actually been a vampire hunter, of course, but she had once doubted her mom’s story about the one-fanged vampire, and look how that turned out.

I had randomly picked it up at the bookstore and somehow felt myself drawn towards it. Sappy novel with mopey dialogues and dragged out bits, it still provided me with much needed solace.

"We don't have all day Miss Angelis" he says and I nod. Finally I scrolled to page , "The Civil War of 1861,it was fought between the years......" I read with a wobbly voice. So much for a great day.

he adds quickly. “Why are they out?” I take off my coat and move to the couch, curiously picking up an old book. “You-know-who wore her mother’s wedding dress at our wedding.” He looks uncomfortable talking about it. “She wanted it back and I wasn’t sure what box it was in.” “Oh. This stuff is cool.” “You like Civil War history?” he asks, looking a little amused. “If I’m being honest, I don’t know much about it. But I love antiques. Wait, all this stuff is from the Civil War?”

In Adam's hand was the leather case she was temporarily bound to, being admired in all corners. "Oh, hey, can't figure out how to open it." Within the speed of light, the leather case was out of Adam's hold. "That's not it," she buried it beneath her books and unzipped another pouch. "Here. Sorry, I should have been more precise." She wiped off an imaginary bead of sweat. "Okay, um, we're beginning with the outbreak of the civil war. What year was that again?" She nervously flipped through pages and even past the required page.
