Hotter Than Hell

Hotter Than Hell

Too bad because I’d have worn one. He has two books on his nightstand. One is a business book that I’ll admit sounds thoroughly boring. The other is Lincoln and His Admirals by Craig Symonds. I’ve read several Lincoln biographies and other books about the Civil War but not this one. I pick up the hardcover and hate the fact that my Nook reader is back in my apartment. I’d love nothing more than a good murder thriller right now.

Absolutely amazing read! Great reader captivation, there seems to actually be a quality editorial team proofreading this novel. I highly recommend it to anyone on this app! To date it is the only novel I've paid to read and I've been using the app for the better part of 6months.

Rain's Rebellion

Rain's Rebellion

“Again, it could be something invented by men to make women think what the men were doing to them was all right, that they were meant to enjoy it.” Undeterred, Mist said, “It talks about how life was like back then, and while it’s true men were the leaders, women were important, too. They had roles they played. This was written about a time called the Civil War, though Sunny figured out it was actually written a couple of hundred years after the war ended. During the Civil War, women helped the men that were fighting. Some of them ran their plantations and farms. Others even fought in the war, disguised as men. And, during the time that this book was written, the author says she’s a business

Truth and Tragedy

Truth and Tragedy

By the time John got to the Macabe house he had planned Vince and Vivian's marriage and the subsequent coup of Macabe land and freeing of the slaves. On this crisp early autumn afternoon, Perry was having whiskey on the front porch, looking out over his rolling fields that had been white with cotton just mere weeks before. There had been so much of it that the ginning process was still ongoing down by the slave quarters that were conspicuously built away from and out of sight of the big fine Victorian mansion. Perry saw John moving up the drive and stood by one of the white pillars to greet his guest. A young boy came forward to take Mister Hart's horse, and as usual, he tipped the young man

he adds quickly. “Why are they out?” I take off my coat and move to the couch, curiously picking up an old book. “You-know-who wore her mother’s wedding dress at our wedding.” He looks uncomfortable talking about it. “She wanted it back and I wasn’t sure what box it was in.” “Oh. This stuff is cool.” “You like Civil War history?” he asks, looking a little amused. “If I’m being honest, I don’t know much about it. But I love antiques. Wait, all this stuff is from the Civil War?”

he says and I looked at him in surprise and horror. He only nods his head and perched his behind on the table. I shakily tooks out my iPad and looked for the page on screen. "We don't have all day Miss Angelis" he says and I nod. Finally I scrolled to page , "The Civil War of 1861,it was fought between the years......" I read with a wobbly voice. So much for a great day.

Vampire Covenant Room

“Slavery ended by now. The Civil war ended in eighteen sixty five, slavery was abolished.” “What Civil war? What are you talking about? We’ve had slavery for hundreds of years, and still do.” Bohdan now knew that not only did he come back in time, he had entered a new universe where events were different. In this universe, the civil war never happened, and slavery still existed.

Cordia's Will: A Civil War Story of Love and Loss

May 21, 1861 Dearest Will, Forgive me for not having written in the past few days. I wasn’t sure what to say after my last letter revealed so many of my thoughts and emotions. I hope that you have not found me too bold. I would think that having not heard from you must mean that you do not share the feelings I have disclosed, except that Julia says she has written to you several times and she has yet to receive a reply. I do not know why I find comfort in that, only that, hearing nothing from you is far better than hearing that you do not return the feelings I have admitted to you. I am sure that you are safe, as they tell us that any word of casualty will be posted on the courthouse door, s
