The Prince and His Prisoner

The Prince and His Prisoner

Good day and welcome to another story written by myself, Vanessa Nicole. The following story will have a feel of the Victorian Era as well as many other eras. There will be many triggers in this story too so I shall warn you here. I specifically love tragedy more than romance so expect some dark stuff! AND MY FANTASIES WILL BE IN THIS BOOK! Under no circumstances should you read the following story and you are younger than 18. *** I also just want to quickly take this time to say thank you to Eva Harlowe who gave me a lecture on the mannerisms and 'wordings' I never knew existed and the idea that will be added to this book some time later.

Touched by Forever

Touched by Forever

Emily wondered how she was able to even move her arms with the sleeves of her dress so tightly fitted. In the room, the curtains were still shut with only a bed lamp giving light. “Good evening,” the lady greeted, pulling a string hanging from the chandelier, lighting the room. The decor matched the Victorian Era dress that the lady was wearing, which was strange to Emily since they were not in the Victorian Era. “Good evening?” Emily asked, wondering why the lady was laying a gown on the bed instead of a nightgown. “The royals are eager to meet you. Shall we get you ready?” the lady asked.

KATHERINE

KATHERINE

It was like being swept away to another century. She sat in one of the chairs facing the desk and saw an identical chair resting behind the desk where Kingsley no doubt sat during the day. She only managed to sit still for about 5 minutes when she couldn't help exploring a little more. The room may not have been excessively large but it had a great deal in it to examine, though it still managed to feel spacious and open. An antique China cabinet sat to the left of the desk near a corner of the room, the light from the adjacent window making the glass sparkle like crystal. It was filled with pictures and antiques from the Victorian era. There was a hand-painted tea set decorated with fragile

My Next Life As A Wicked Dame

My Next Life As A Wicked Dame

Only Lady Marina’s parent know it, and baka the school officials. Sa Central Library ko naman ginagawa pagbabasa ko sa history, mula academics to socializing, doon to ginagawa at pinagaaralan. And to my surprise, in this world, cars is already made but not the fancy cars ones pero yung vintage cars na kung tawagin natin sa modern world. This really surprises me dahil the book setting was centered at Victorian Era with medieval setting. The cars are powered by mana, and only the nobles and businessman can afford it. Gaya sa mundong pinang-galingan ko rare ones are expensive. The strange thing is, it isn’t popular in Avalor Kingdom, nalaman ko lang to dahil kay Rita. The author of Illuminatin

Coming of Age the Fast Way

Coming of Age the Fast Way

As I approached Vera I saw she looked much better. 'How was the tour?' 'Words fail me.' 'French Revolution?' 'You know? Who wrote the script? It was appalling.' 'It really doesn’t matter. The main thing is it keeps everyone happy.' 'Explain!' 'The tour guides are happy, because they feel as though they are sucking up to their masters. Thereafter, you need to remember that we are in the entertainment business, not education. The know-alls go home thinking we are idiots and they could do it much better. They feel clean inside. The educated ones are surprised they didn’t know that French aristocrats brought their furniture to England, and even more surprised the Empire style was alive and well

he coughed, his eyes alight with the tales of the past, “Queen Victoria’s reign began in 1837. She was the second-longest reigning Queen of England, coming just behind the current matriarch, Queen Elizabeth II. The Victorian Era is most notable – in my humble opinion – for its rapid advances in technology. This was the time of trains, of the London Underground, of vaccines and of cures and of education.” I kept my eyes focused on the powerpoint slide as he spoke. I agreed with him, to an extent – the Victorian Era had been incredible, awe-inspiring. But it had also brought with it death, in the crowded, smog-filled cities, and in its factories, with tiny children working from young ages. He

I am loving this beautifully written book! The author takes the time to craft the characters and the ways the natural world mirrors this inner world. I love that this is a very different kind of Alpha!

Mated To A Human

Mated To A Human

Suddenly they're talking about the equinox festival, and I'm spared. "You can always change your major again," Harvey says. "Yeah, I'm thinking I'll give history a go again." "What part of history would you most want to learn about?" I set my fork on the rim of my plate. "The Victorians, probably, and not just because this is a very Victorian town, and I live in a very Victorian house." He asks, "What is it about them?" "Their attention to detail, obsession with death, misuse of poisons, gothic novels — they're so theatrically strange. I think it'd be fun."

The Crimson Accord

The Crimson Accord

I have become so used to him, I rarely thought about my shadow. We talk of nothing important. I was determined to make a good impression after being caught in a not so spectacular position earlier. I point out some of my favorite art pieces as if I have been here for years instead of days. An expert of the paintings that hang from the walls that I have scoured in my lonely walks every day. Martha expresses a love for the historical pieces, something we share in common and she tells me of her students at the college she teaches who are fascinated with the same time period. Although she teaches English, she references the art of the Victorian period as influential for the writers around the ti

Alpha's Mage

Alpha's Mage

Erica flinched at the malice she saw in his eyes, the hatred, the disgust she heard in his voice. The man named Xander suddenly asked, "You look a little pale? Are you feeling under the weather?" His black orbs reminded her of a hawk waiting for its prey. Ah, so they either knew or suspected something. She refused to cower in front of them. She squared her shoulders, "No, I am fine. After taking a promenade, I feel refreshed". In her mind, she thanked her lucky stars for having read all those books and plays set in the Victorian era and Elizabethan era that were now helping her. They nodded before Xander said, "If I daresay, Her Highness should rest, we will take your leave. We do not wish

I am such an idiot. I’ve had this book in my library for an entire month before I decided to give this book a try and I am full of regrets. From beginning to end, this story has been fast past but very detailed, not jeopardizing the plot. I am in love with this book and intrigued by the plot
