The figure was identical to him in every way, but this time its eyes burned with a sickly green glow, and its smile was cruel, almost predatory.
“You think you’re safe?” the doppelgänger sneered, its voice dripping with malice. “You think they’ll protect you? You’re weak, Luke. Always have been.”
Luke took a step back, his breathing ragged. “Fuck off man you’re not real. This isn’t real.”
The doppelgänger chuckled darkly, the sound reverberating like a thousand voices. “Oh, but I am. I’m the part of you that you can’t escape. The part you pretend doesn’t exist. And I’m only getting stronger.”
