I Quit Chasing His Flight Path
At the bottom of the box, there was one more thing.
It was a delicate wooden music box shaped like a small snow-capped mountain. There was no airplane on it, no cockpit, and no bear engravings.
There was only a setting sun carved from rosewood, hanging silently above the peak.
I reached out and turned the winding key. A clear, crisp melody filled the room.
It was my favorite song, "Encounter".
There was another note attached to it. It contained Brandon's somewhat sloppy handwriting.
