Dad used to play when he was younger until he went to college and studied business and finance then dropped out of the hockey scene when he met my mom. Apparently, he wanted to spend more time with mom and on his studies than be on the ice. Aw, that’s deep love for you. Not that I would ever expect Cody to drop out of NHL for me, in fact I’d be so mad at him if he did.

His dad could scratch at the painting all he wanted. The thought produced a brief, genuine smile that faded as the arena doors loomed larger ahead of him. He was not looking forward to tonight.
