CHAPTER 6 Blessed are the Bold “The name means Hill of the Ghouls. Isn’t that messed up?” The black van clunked on through the fading light of day. It was All Hallow’s Eve and rather than get drunk and steal candy from children like their peers, Jon and friends were bundled away in warm winter gear and passing around a bottle of scotch Kathy had stolen from her parents’ liquor stock. “How much longer, you reckon?” Louis asked. “Soon. Maybe twenty more minutes,” Michael answered from the driver’s seat.

What was going to make our reunion even more spectacular tonight was there was another reason for Mark's visit besides paying a conjugal visit to his hot big sister and her lonely pussy. Maya sat still for a long time. “You want me,” she said. “Yes.” “One night.” “One night,” Adrian said. “After that, the debt is gone.” Maya looked at the city behind the glass. Her hands were cold. She thought of her father coughing. She thought of her mother crying. She thought of the three days. “I need time to think.” “You have until tonight,” Adrian said. “If you agree, you will receive a message.”

9PM The Void Club Khaid’s routine on a non-mission night was clockwork. At 9:00 PM, he would arrive at The Void Club, a venue he partially owned, using it as a discrete command center and social surveillance hub. This time, he didn't enter as the bubbly life of the party. He entered through a private service entrance, bypassing the main crowd, and went directly to his secluded booth overlooking the main floor. The club was a dizzying blend of flashing lights, expensive clientele, and heavy, pulsating electronic music.

Selene followed behind them, her eyes still half-lidded from exhaustion. “What’s happening?” Sofia giggled. “There’s a huge party here every night at eight. They call it the Octa Hunt.” Selene stopped, totally lost. “The what now?” “Octa Hunt,” Klare repeated excitedly. “Apparently, it’s famous around here.” Mia leaned closer. “And I heard people go there specifically to meet strangers, flirt, hook up, and basically forget all their problems. So it’s the best outlet if you want to you know…” Klare winked.

“Oh, this is juicy.” Kieran stumbles back, snow crunching under his boots. His chest heaves as his breath ceases. “Nova, let me explain.” Sloane’s laugh slices through the cold. She enters the light; her white fur coat glows under the Blood Moon. Diamonds drip from her ears, each one screaming money. “Too late, little wolf. The Blood Moon rises tonight.” Kieran frowned. “That's not true; it can't be tonight.” “Do you think I am lying?” She flicks her wrist and stares at her watch. “The countdown is 03:59:47. My daddy has already chosen your wedding suit.”

sensing the excitement of the crowd, Daniella remarked as she looked at the crowd which was going crazy by the minute. Levy paused when she heard the term that Daniella used and asked, “ What do you mean by the night of no moon?” “ You know how shifters rely on the moon goddess for their survival right? Thus every month there are few nights when the moon won’t rise and its during these nights when the shifters feel the weakest, during nights like these the bars of the shifter community make special shots which are much heavier than the usual ones,” Daniella explained as she pulled Levy towards the counter where the bartender was making shots. “Let's go and try one shall we?”
