And then the sea exploded. A shape rose behind the boat—towering, serpent-thick, covered in barnacles and blind white eyes. A god—or something older. The deck tilted violently. Waves battered the ship like fists. Maya grabbed Halrik and Jonas, pulling them toward the interior hatch as the sky broke with rain. “We have to go! Now!” But Halrik was still weeping. “You brought her up. You brought it up. You fed the trench…” And Jonas, pale as death, said, “That thing—it’s not done. It’s hunting. It knows your name.”

She wanted to turn around and run, but Nicholas held on to her. "Leave me," she said, but Nicholas kept holding on to her. "Avery, calm down! It feeds on fear and hatred!" Wahika yelled. Avery calmed down. They all saw the sea monster returning to whence it came.

Once i was sure that everyone indulged back in their talks, i turned to Harini again. "Have you lost it?" "Its nothing wrong dude. The giant sea monster was getting closer and closer and I let out a scream when it was close enough that I saw the inside of its mouth as it readied itself to swallow me. A strong wave of current suddenly pushed the monster away, but all it did was distract it from coming towards me and glared at its attacker.
