Horror Film Scream Novels & Stories

Scarlet’s eyes wandered like someone waking from drowning, a bad dream folding into the edges of a waking day. Then they opened, wide and raw, the room snapping into focus like a photograph burned into her skull. She lurched, a high animal sound tearing out of her throat. “Don’t touch me!” she screamed, voice brittle with horror. For a long second she fought the panic, flailing like a trapped thing. Then there was nothing ... no hands on her, no ropes, no Liora’s knife-sweet smile.

They even went as far as to takeout their phones to record my humiliation. The thought that Charlotte might end up in a similar situation never crossed my mind. I looked at her like she was nothing more than a speck of dust and announced softly, "Time's up." "Bitch, you deserve to die! I should have killed you long ago!" Charlotte spat. Her face was devoid of fear, only intense hatred and disgust as she glared at me. As soon as she finished speaking, the red fog began to close in on her. A piercing scream filled the air, but soon, everything fell silent.

I stare at the pan, what he’s cooking is staring right back at me, then the door, then back at the pan. I grab the spatula with a shaky hand. The soup bubbles lazily though it doesn’t realize we’re in a horror movie now. I stir because I don’t know what else to do. My hands feel rubbery. My throat’s dry. My brain is screaming at me to run, but my body’s too stunned to move. Then I hear it. A scream. I freeze. Lucien. It’s fucking Lucien. That’s his voice. That sick little nasal pitch when he screams. The way it breaks like glass under pressure.

It was a horror movie. Helma curled up in her chair and tried look away from the screen but she couldn't. Donald enjoyed his movie choice and followed the storyline. " How can you be ok watching people kill each other?" Helma asked scared. Donald ignored and concentrated on the movie, immediately a woman's head was cut off and her body eaten by shark. Helma screemed her lungs out and held Donald in fear.

Modern, furnished and beautiful and looking new everyday although the house was five years old already. Juana's coffee was transparent, lot of water, lot of sugar, no milk. So she could see her face while sipping at it. Her big blue eyes were a bit undefined, her expression showed fear with a mixture of helplessness and unusual calm. Then the dream came again. Avocado. Garden. Branch. Third branch. Corpse dripping with blood. Loose. Screaming. Empty House. Dream. "Oh my goodness" she sighed, dropping her half empty mug. She tried to make meaning out of it, but it was a little creepy..

The sound that tore through the morning silence was not a laugh, nor a whisper, nor the familiar, grim sounds of our daily survival. It was a scream. It was a high, thin, wire of pure, unadulterated terror, so sharp it seemed to slice through the very walls of our condo. It wasn't the guttural roar of an Infected; this was a human sound, born of a shock so profound it could only be expressed in a single, piercing note of absolute horror.

Once the movie starts, I can feel his gaze burning into me. I almost laugh when I realize we’re watching some old slasher horror flick. Of course that’s the kind of thing they’d bring me to see. Forcing me to sit here and watch them get off on half naked girls running away terrified in the night, screaming in terror before they inevitably get slashed to bits. I side-eye Trey as I realize he’s still watching me instead of the movie. I try not to make eye contact, but his sneering lips are practically drooling as he grins at me.

The scream shattered the silence of the penthouse like a thrown brick. It wasn't the fussy cry of a baby. It wasn't the frustrated shout of a child who didn't want to go to bed. It was a sound of pure, unadulterated terror. High-pitched. Animalistic. The sound of someone being hurt. Aurora was out of bed before her eyes were open. Liam was right behind her. They ran down the hallway, their bare feet pounding on the runner.

Slowly, he lifted my hand and pressed it gently over my eyes. “It’s best if you don’t watch.” I heard the door open, heard his feet hit the asphalt. And then a scream. Followed by a louder one—ragged, jagged. I squeezed my eyes shut, muttering beneath my breath, “It’s best not to watch.” Another scream tore through the night. But this one was different. It was higher. More desperate. A screech that didn’t sound like it came from a human’s throat. My fingers parted allowing one of my eyes to peer through the narrow slit.
