My mind raced, trying to comprehend the sudden turn of events. As I held my breath, the door swung open once again, and a hulking, bald shifter loomed into view. His nose bore the marks of multiple fractures, giving his face a gnarled appearance. Thick, unruly eyebrows perched above his squishy, pink complexion, rendering his small eyes almost inconspicuous within the landscape of his features.

Gaia POV. “Gaia?” I blink that the boy I saw a few months back was a tiny five-year-old child and now he looks like he is nearly an adult. How? “Sirens grow and mature quicker than any other shifter they have to, to be able to survive in the water. He is a warrior, a hunter.” Well, fucking hell! “Charlie … I … What? I can’t believe it.
