A blank mind leads to heavy eyelids and I end up falling asleep. I wake up to a murmur of voices. Familiar voices. At first I expect to find myself in my childhood bed, Nox and Nexus arguing about me outside the door. There’s a flash of sadness that I push away before crawling out of bed. I’m not at Gideon's anymore. Nox and Nexus aren’t here. If the blanket laid over me wasn’t a sign that someone was spying on me while I slept, my open bedroom door is.
