"My stomach, it hurts..." Nakoa gasps, hopping onto her feet. "What's going on?" Warmth suddenly floods my throat, tasting metallic before I cough it onto the ground, unable to control it. Looking down in horror, I see blood staining the gravel, now dripping down my chin. When I look up at Clea and Nakoa, their eyes are wide and their mouths are hanging open, as horrified and disgusted by the image of me coughing blood onto my feet.

My blood trickled down my chin and down my neck until I drenched the gown. The pain was unbearable that I wasn’t able to hold my tears anymore. My lips trembled lightly. I groaned with the slightest movement as it brought sharp pain around my mouth. The moment the thread reached the other end of my lips I dropped on the ground. I helplessly reached my sutured mouth. I cried in silence. “Bea...” A familiar voice called. I looked at the mirror and saw myself crying blood. I felt a pressure on my chin and the type of my head.

I don't need to be told twice that the Rutlock has reached its limit. I drop to my knees and retch. It's not the normal vomit that gushes out. It's clumps of blood. It took Leana almost all day to recover from her blood loss. Kella was working overtime to heal her, but the body can only recover so fast from loss of blood. When she finally opened her eyes, Drake had nearly sobbed in relief. I think maybe he actually did, because I smelled the scent of blood and there was a bit smudged on his face. My hands trembled as I pulled a sharp knife, tears streaming in my eyes, I tried to imagine how it would feel to be dead “Painless death” I felt a force pushing me to end it all while another urged me to be brave. I tried to erase my craze but it took a hold of me again, this time pushing with brute force. My heartbeat increasing rapidly, I pulled the knife to do what bravery never encourages. I let the sharp knife fall from my hands. I couldn’t do it, I just could not do it. I sat on the floor and cried until my eyes turned red.
