Chains Of The Heart
Their arms dangled uselessly below them, fingers twitching with the last remnants of nerve impulses.
Blood dripped from them.
Slowly. Steadily. Endlessly.
It pooled beneath them in shallow basins, and from those basins, channels carved into the stone floor carried it outward—toward sigils. Massive sigils, drawn in crimson, pulsing with an unholy light.
Blood magic.
Someone was crying. A man, somewhere in the shadows, begging for death in a voice so broken it didn't sound human anymore. "Please," he wept. "Please, I can't—I can't anymore—just let me die—"
