Bloods Thicker Than Water Novels & Stories

It is all a mere game and nothing more but for his entertainment. “In this world, no one could run away from the truth, as no one will ever turn down the blood origin that they came from. For you see Alliah, blood is always thicker than water. “DRAG HER, PLAY HER WITH THE DEAL, AND MAKE SURE HE FALLS TO THE SIN. FOR YOU SEE, SHE IS MORE THAN ANYTHING OF THE WORLDS I CREATED. SHE IS MY DAUGHTER.” The words that suddenly whispers and back to his memory. The command that is amusing enough for him to take.

He denied it, saying he did not want to play childish games with me anymore. 'Ethan, don't you remember that I can't swim?' The moment my body fell, I thought I saw his face go pale. His eyes seemed to be filled with disbelief. Of course, it was all a lie, but at that moment, I truly believed he loved me. I was terrified of water. When Ethan was ambushed and thrown into a river years ago, it was me who saved him. The price I paid was steep. My limbs had gone numb from the icy water, and when I woke up, the doctor told me I would never have children.

The second dragged on, and then I blurted out: “I lost my parents. Like, permanently. But Aradia and Ezrand are my family now, and they’re yours, too. They’ve accepted who you are, Skye – everything about who you are.” He frowned thoughtfully. “You know that quote?” “What quote?” “’Blood runs thicker than water.’ That one.” He toyed with my fingers, lifting them one by one and placing them back down gently on the duvet before repeating the cycle. “Yeah. What about it?” “The full quote doesn’t mean that family is a stronger bond than friendship. It’s actually, ‘the blood of the covenant runs thicker than the water of the womb.’ People always get it the wrong way around.”

Blood said and gave him a punch on his face that he stumbled on the ground. “I…Blood---” He tried to say. “I hope that you will still change your mind, but I was so stupid to get that hope in me. How can I forget? You have the same blood as Roman, what they say is really true---blood will always be thinner than water.” Blood said and laughed bitterly; a tear escaped his eyes. ‘If you just know how I wish he is not my father anymore, how I hate that I existed in this world as his son’

My mom says and he scoffs. “This war is her fault. She is not welcome in my pack sister. It would seem you have chosen her side. You disappoint me. Throwing your lot in with someone who isn’t even blood.” I stagger back at his words. Uncle Nicholas was always kind to me. He was always there for me. The saying is true blood is thicker than water and I am not blood. I’m not even water. No, I am death. I turn to look at my mom and pops. No, not my mom or my family. He is right. I step back. Those behind me are more like me: outcasts, unloved, and unwanted.

I was done believing in blood connections and inherited love. From now on, the only family I had was the family I chose. And I was very careful about who I chose. Because blood might be thicker than water. But lies were thicker than both.

The scar on my thigh pulses faintly, a dull echo of something I don’t yet understand. Blood, it turns out, doesn’t mean loyalty. It just means proximity, and I have never been close enough to matter.

I stand at the window again, hands still smelling faintly of river water, and listen to the Axis hum with a complexity that frightens me more than fire ever did. It is learning. So must I.

Elnora has always been there through thick and thin, since the night they met, when she was a bloodied mess; the night when she killed a man, she knew she’d always have Nora, a bond so deep they were more than best friends, they were sisters, blood sisters. Robbin knew one thing with absolute certainty; No matter how badly her heart had been broken, she was not alone and she never would be again.

The following week was a study in atmospheric pressure. The air in the house didn't just feel heavy; it felt viscous, like walking through chest-deep water. Laredo was a ghost that haunted the hallways, a silent, impeccably dressed spectre who communicated in lingering glances and the occasional, heavy-handed brush of his shoulder against mine in the corridor.
