THE REVENGE OF THE CHUBBY HEIRESS
My eyes dropped on Jessie staring at the picture of her I had put on my table.
I closed the gap between us and ran my fingers across the glass of the frame.
“I don't even have this," she muttered with tears stinging the corners of her eyes.
I took the frame from her and circled the outline of her face before dropping it to the table.
“It felt like hope whenever everything around me was sinking in." I grabbed her shoulder and peered into her eyes. “Jessie, this was the only way I could keep my head above the water."
“Mr Harrington," a teasing smile climbed her face. She lifted the lapel of my jacket, slightly pulling me in. “I didn't know you knew such clichéd words."
