Calvin looked up at me, blinking and yawning with his cute pretty eyes staring at me expectedly. He shuffled over and I squeezed myself next to him having to fold myself like a paper craft to fit on the miniature human bed. I opened the book and started reading and got to some parts where the pirate was searching for a treasure on an island. I glanced down, hoping he was asleep but I made an eye contact with his heterochromia eyes. He was widely awake. Why? Go to sleep! I stifled a roar and the urge to dump the book into the toilet crossed my mind. I tried to regain control over my emotions and continue to read to him.

Damn, I don't even feel anything other than dismay and outrage from them. I feel like my perspective towards the pirates change a little bit, maybe because I tried hanging out with them to secure my safety that I didn't notice that it somehow change me a little. I smiled as the wind keeps blowing my hair, in here, I felt free. I felt like my life is finally mine, with no bounds and no responsibilities. Just freedom. But I know, in my current situation, there is a possibility that the pirates I am with now may stab me in my back because I didn't follow them.

But after what your kingdom did to us, being pirates is the only thing that we know we can do. It is what we had to do.” My eyes widened as I met his gaze. “We were once fishermen from the kingdom of Middle Earth. Life was simple. And even though it was a struggle sometimes, we were thankful,” the pirate leader started his explanation. “But when the previous king died, everything changed. His queen campaigned for modernism. The leader had a weather-beaten face, and his bright red scars looked exceptionally fierce and terrifying. From their appearance and attire, Andrius immediately concluded that they were the pirates the fisherman mentioned before. The scar-faced pirate shouted at Andrius rudely, “Outsiders ain’t welcome here, kid. Get lost.” Andrius pointed at the ship and said casually, “I just thought this ship looked good. It’s quite new and isn’t that damaged, so I want to buy it. If you don’t welcome me, then I’ll leave.” With that, Andrius pretended to turn around and leave.

The storm raged around the ship, waves crashing violently against the hull and rain lashing the deck. Amelia clung to the railing, her Chestnut hair whipping about her face as the wind howled. This was the life she had chosen, the freedom she had yearned for since fleeing the palace. No more silken gowns or dainty slippers for her - she was a pirate now, captain of her own destiny. Amelia made her way carefully across the slippery deck, shouting orders to her crew as they battled to keep the ship afloat. She felt invigorated by the thrill of adventure, more alive than she had ever felt back in the confines of the palace. This was worth any hardship or danger.
