How Many Books Read A Year Novels & Stories

It was an addiction. In the space of one week, I have finished fifteen books. Each book is as large as Oxford dictionaries. I never knew I could read so fast, I truly have been starved of the fictional world. I started to fear that I may risk emptying the royal pantry. The more I read, the hungrier I got. Perhaps I had the pregnancy for that. Or maybe both. Who knows? Louis looked at me like I was some kind of strange creature, “have you even had a bath within the past week?”

She doesn't have a problem reading if it's necessary but even she can say this was too much.

I read mystery books, thrillers and fantasies or general kid books. I read teen fiction too but I stayed away from horror. Mom bought me all of my books. I've got at least seventy books in my bookshelf and mom got them all for me. It was not a problem for her at all.

I finally said, staring at her with every inch of annoyance in me. “How many hours are we going to take to read these books; it will take an eternity,” I growled, staring at how many books were right in front of me. “They are 50 books in total with 400 pages each. The rest of the day is a blur of ink-smudged fingers, dust-coated shelves, and the occasional headache from reading way too many book titles that have no business being that long. Nothing significant happens, unless you count the minor scandal of a first-year trying to smuggle out a whole stack of books in their tote bag. Apparently, six books at a time wasn’t enough for them. I don’t blame them. If I could escape into a dozen different worlds right now, I would.

“So, have you read any new books yet?” “Nope..” “Oh.. Are you not done with the one you were reading last school year?” “Hmm? Those. I’ve finished all of the seven books.” “What do you think about it?” “It was good. Those who loved it would forever love the books for sure.” She shrugged. She didn’t want to say too much as that would be one big spoiler. She was from the future so she knew things that they are yet to know. She didn’t want to take away that experience from them.

“Oh, in that case, I guess I’ll just sleep in and catch up on my reading.” Liam’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at me like I’d just confessed to some unspeakable crime. “The whole weekend?” His voice was laced with disbelief, and the way he said it made me laugh. I shrugged. “I have a lot of reading to catch up on, you should see my ‘to be read’ list, it’s ridiculously long.” Liam leaned back in his seat, one brow arching in amusement. “How long are we talking? A dozen books? A hundred?”

That wasn’t actually a bad idea, except- “She reads so many books. It would be impossible to identify which one is her favorite without asking her.” “How many books can you read in a week?” I wouldn’t know. My bookshelf has only a couple of books but only educational ones, you don’t read them in a single sitting. I lean back in my chair. Totally clueless as to what I could possibly say to Cecilia to make her interested in hanging around more often. Although, what kind of relationship would I have with someone that I can barely talk to? “I can’t randomly pick out books she’s read and try to read them. There’s too many and I have no time.”
