The only thing that moved were his two black pupils dilated. "Caroline ... " His hoarse voice echoed through the room. "You ... You're only eighteen." He cleared his throat and looked away from me with a frown. "Are you kidding?" I whispered in surprise. "I'm one hundred and eight years old, Alex. I'm four times your age."
