I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed. I folded my arms and read their names. The Claiming Rites, Finding the One, and Under the Red Moon. There was no order in which anyone should read these books, so I sat down and picked up The Claiming Rites. After an hour, I finished reading. The book made zero sense, and then I picked up Finding the One and spent another hour reading through it. While the first book was incomplete, the second made a little more sense. I picked up the third, which I had gone to Zion’s room with. I took my time reading, and another hour went by.

We didn't have this back in the my pack but my uncle always got me books to read. Eager to explore, I set off down the aisles, my fingers grazing the spines of countless books. Each one seemed to whisper its secrets to me, beckoning me further into the labyrinth of knowledge. I couldn't contain my excitement as I selected my first book, feeling its rough texture beneath my fingertips. I found a comfortable spot in a cozy nook, nestled among the towering shelves, and began to lose myself in the words.

He could feel it the way you felt a change in the weather before it arrived — not seeing it yet but sensing the pressure of it, the particular quality of air before something broke open. He picked up his book. He turned to the first page and actually read it.

“Would you like to choose one of these pages to read?” Lilliana looked up, a small hint of interest brightening her eyes as she reached for the book. She opened to the first page, glanced at Emily, and started reading softly, her voice steady but quiet. Emily listened carefully, offering small encouraging nods here and there. When Lilliana stumbled on a word, Emily leaned in and quietly helped her sound it out. Bit by bit, Lilliana began to relax, her shoulders loosening as she grew more confident. “That was wonderful, Lilliana,” Emily said after they finished the first few pages. “You’re such a good reader.”

The act of reading became a form of self-care, a deliberate choice to invest time in a world where narratives unfolded with the promise of resolution. As the hours passed, Veronica found herself enchanted by the author's storytelling prowess. The book, a vessel of imagination and solace, became a companion in her solitude. The gentle rustling of pages marked the passage of time, a rhythmic journey that mirrored the ebb and flow of emotions within her.

I said, and Rick nodded as he walked to the center of the room and dropped into a chair. My fingers glide along the books as I read their titles. I pull one out, glance at the first few pages, and then slip it back into its place before continuing. “Hmmm,” I hummed as I squatted to see the books at the bottom. My fingers glide along the books, and my heart stops when I read one of the titles, “How to Reject a Mate and the Consequences that Follow.” Slowly, I pulled the book from its slot and flipped through a few pages.

Sophia huffed softly, suddenly very interested in the handle of her mug. “You’ll tell me about the book when you’re done reading?” He asked gently, moving closer to her. Sophia looked up, “What?” She didn’t quite get what he meant. “You’ll summarize it for me.” He told her clearly. Still not understanding why there should be any need for that, she asked him, “Why?” Alex chuckled, “Because I want you to talk to me about the book you were reading. I’m interested in knowing what the book is about, but rather than reading, I'd prefer if you tell me about it,” his gaze felt warm as he glanced back at her, “Alright?”

"Every fairy tale, every myth, every legend. It's all here, waiting for you to read it." I felt a shiver of excitement. "The only rule is that you can only open the book for one hour," the man said. "When the hour is up, the book will close, and you won't be able to open it again until you find it in the library again. Do you understand?" I nodded, and I took the book in my hands. I opened it, and I was amazed by what I saw. The pages were filled with beautiful illustrations, and the words were written in a flowing script. I started to read, and I was transported to a different world.
