This is my very first completed novel, and I honestly don't know how to explain what this journey has been like. Before writing this book, I worked as a ghostwriter. My job was simple in comparison. I was given outlines, chapter breakdowns, character directions, and all I had to do was bring someone else's vision to life. It wasn't easy, but there was always a map.

Dearest reader, When I first started writing this story, I had no idea what I was stepping into. Dante and Alera’s world began as a whisper in my head. Thier love was a messy, aching kind that demanded to be told and somehow, it became my very first published book on GoodNovel. This journey has been everything but easy. It’s been a learning and humbling curve. I’ve stumbled, grown, rewritten, cried, and smiled through every chapter. But most importantly, I’ve learned that stories have a way of healing not just the characters but the person writing them too.

"How did you go from being a lawyer to becoming a novelist?" I smiled, feeling a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence. "Well, it's a long story," I said, "but I'll try to give you the short version. I was a lawyer for many years, but I always had a passion for writing. I used to write short stories and poetry in my spare time, and I even tried my hand at writing a novel. But it wasn't until I went through a difficult time in my personal life that I really found my voice as a writer."

I smiled while looking at the screen. It was my hobby to write stories. Some could be short or long. Then it was the first time that I attempted to write a novel. Somehow it was healing and the dream of me wanting to be a writer one day became clear. Aside from the dream of pursuing the course that I wanted, that career was precious to me as well.

For the first time, Cathedra had someone who didn't cringe every time she opened her mouth to speak. So this is what having a friend feels like, huh? Cathedra thought to herself. The floor plan has to be complete, the interior and the exterior needs to be planned, and the type of materials has to be chosen. Same as writing a novel. You have to prepare your characters, build the world where the story will take place, and plan the plot. In that way, once you started writing the novel, you will never get lost. But, sometimes, authors experience what they call a writer's block. It's a period where an author can't think of what to write no matter how hard he tries. This phase is the hardest for any author, and it is what Henrey is experiencing right now. For days, he's been trying to think of a plot for his next book, but no matter what he do, he always comes blank.
