The communicator fell into dead silence. All his anger and grievance were forced back down.
After a long while, when I was nearly drifting back to sleep, he finally spoke. His voice was low, edged with panic he did not even recognize.
"So in the end, you’re leaving me because of that unborn pup."
I did not answer.
He lowered his voice into command again, his usual dominance returning. "Tell me where you are. I want to see you."
"Raelor, we aren't mates. Leaving doesn't require mutual consent. You can disagree, but I’ve already decided. Have some dignity. Stop clinging. It suits your Alpha identity better."
Without waiting for a reply, I cut off the communicator’s spiritual link.
