I didn’t care either way...
“Good,” I gritted out, pushing him towards the door. “Get to work!”
He scurried out of the room, and strangely, I felt completely calm after that. My hands felt restless, though, but I knew of a way that always calmed me. I pulled out my trusted switchblade and leaned against the wall, playing with it between my fingers. I barely noticed that the tension in the room was thick enough to cut through and that nobody really dared to breathe.
