I'd listen to his concerns and share my own, making him feel understood and valued. It was a long shot, but I was willing to try anything. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that my tactics had been all wrong. Instead of trying to lure Roman into a false romance, I needed to connect with him on a genuine level. It would be a slow process, but I was prepared for the challenge.

Liam began, his expression unreadable. “You could say that,” she replied dryly. “I need a partner,” he said bluntly. Emily blinked. “A partner? I felt like I’d known him for a long time. “Ok,” I said, giving a resigned sigh, “but there isn’t really much to tell. There’s this guy, who I’ve bumped into a couple of times. And usually I’m doing something wrong so he’s yelling at me. Because he’s kind of scary, but then this one time, I was sort of stuck up a tree, yes long story,” I said noticing his raised eyebrow, “and he helped me get down and was really kind and we sort of cuddled …….yeah, it’s pathetic isn’t it?” “No it’s not pathetic,” he said nudging me gently, “every romance has to start somewhere. It’s not exactly love at first sight for most people.”

I awkwardly nod at him. "Nope, you are wrong. You wrote a love story with a classic tragedy at the end." So what?! It is almost a shock, and it's a romance. "It's a romance." I contest. "No, it's not. Let me tell you what's a romance story is." He pauses and stands up. He begins to move as he explains. "A romance story is a type of genre in fiction novel which places its primary focus on a relationship and romantic love between two persons. Usually emotionally satisfying and has an optimistic ending. Romance story always has a happy ending despite the challenges of your plot." Oh! I understand.

I smirked and leaned forward. "Let's get to the point." I rested my elbow on the table. "We need to come up with a story. How we met, how we fell in love.” She crossed her arms and her lips twisted in a mocking smile. “And what kind of story do you have in mind?” “We met outside a cafe.” I began. “Became friends and” “Boring,” she interrupted. “Let’s say you saved me from an accident and took care of me. That’s how we fell in love.”
