I’d lashed out, a tempest of insecurity and rage.
The video continued playing, but I couldn’t watch anymore.
I closed the app and leaned forward, running a hand through my hair.
“Dammit,” I hissed through clenched teeth. “Fuck!”
The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror but said nothing. Smart man.
I took a deep breath, forcing the anger back down. It wasn’t anger at anyone else. It was anger at myself.
“Drive,” I said, my voice sharp.
The driver nodded, pulling the car onto the road.
