Ignite me (A collection of Short Stories)

Ignite me (A collection of Short Stories)

"Tell us more about that client email. Sounds hilarious." Jane laughs and dives in, but every word feels like a brush against that hidden tension. While she's mid-story about some absurd client demand, waving her fork for emphasis, I feel a surge of boldness under his steady glances. The memory of that staircase kiss loops in my head, fueling me. I catch his eye for the one hundredth time and then I do something I never thought I would do. Being flirty. I sink my teeth into my bottom lip, and the soft give of it draws his focus like a magnet.

Taste of Pleasure(Short Story Collection)

Taste of Pleasure(Short Story Collection)

For weeks I'd found myself stealing glances at her, imagining the scenarios I'd written about in my story. She was perched on her desk as I approached her, my shoes scuffing against the floor. "Is there something wrong with my piece, Professor?" I asked, my voice wavering. I noticed her smile before she spoke, her dark eyes gleaming with an emotion I couldn't quite identify. "No... quite the opposite of what you might expect... your writing is passionate and compelling. I enjoyed your story because I appreciate bold narratives myself, and I'd like to discuss it further with you if you don't mind."

EXCLUSIVELY HIS (Dirty short stories)

EXCLUSIVELY HIS (Dirty short stories)

Right when the vampire was a few feet away from Uea, a sense of realization flashed through his mind, and he gasped in horror. "Isn't this Cassian? The vampire in my story 'Exclusively His'? The short story collection I finished a few days ago?" Uea's mind overworked, trying to make sense of what was going on. He'd already found everything familiar to begin with, and after confirming his situation, another realization dawned on him, shaking him to the core. Uea glanced at his chained body, and his lips trembled when he realized he wasn't in his own body, but the body of the main character of his short story.

Wickedly Twisted

Wickedly Twisted

I have to stand for a few seconds as sweat breaks out in tingles under my arms. "Room service," a man says from the other side of the door. Shaking, I let him. He pushes a cart inside, sets it up, and pauses. "Anything else?" he asks. Expecting a tip. But unfortunately for him, I have no money. "No, thanks, that's everything." He frowns but leaves. I shut the door behind him, lock the deadbolt, then practically run to the bottle of champagne. I don't bother pouring it into a glass. I break out the cork then pour it down my throat, my hands trembling at the thought of Gregory Callahan looking into the fake story Scar spun them.

Shortlived Happiness

Shortlived Happiness

The streetlights elongated his shadow until he turned a corner and disappeared from my line of sight. I entered the house after throwing the gold pendant away. My baby was like me—we didn't want love that was too little, too late. … Three months later, I was celebrating with my colleagues after completing yet another big project. That was when I received a call from a funeral parlor. They asked me whether it was convenient for me to collect Benjamin's ashes. I looked at the calm surface of the lake outside my window and chuckled softly. Then, I said, "You can just pour them down the drain."

Shifter Short Stories

Shifter Short Stories

Thank goodness my apartment is the one on the bottom. "No, that's not it. I just don't want Jon or my parents to show up and stop me from doing what I want. Like shoving you onto the couch and having my way with you." If you've never broken an FBI agent, you should try it sometime. It's hilarious to see how many times I can make him freeze. I just made a joke in my head. He tells people to freeze, but I keep making him freeze. Shut up, everyone. No one heard that bad joke but me.

FORSAKEN WIFE, NOW A BILLIONAIRE'S GREATEST REGRET

FORSAKEN WIFE, NOW A BILLIONAIRE'S GREATEST REGRET

I whispered, leaning into him. He was quiet for a moment. “You know, my book… the grumpy surgeon… he finds out his sidekick, the postmistress, is having her estranged daughter’s baby. He has to deliver it, in the middle of a storm, using only a first-aid kit and a philosophical treatise on Kant.” I looked up at him. “That is the worst plot twist I have ever heard.” “I know,” he said, smiling through his own emotion. “But it’s my nonsense.” He hugged me tight. “Our nonsense.”

My Beta's Betrayal, My Alpha's Obsession

My Beta's Betrayal, My Alpha's Obsession

She hissed, “we need to leave immediately!” “Alright, alright.” I patted her arm. “I’ll just get the eggplants.” I turned and beamed widely at the worried girl. “Have you seen a brinjal this big and shiny?! It’s like—.” “A cock soaked in cum,” someone said. What...? My face feel deadpanned as it swivelled up to voice. An elderly man in Einstein’s age and appearance was bellowing in laughter at his own dirty joke, his round belly shaking uncontrollably.

“Unless... you grab life by the throat and twist it into something so unexpected even Life does a double take.” They both blink at me while I chuckle. Yeah. I’m messed up. But at least I’m interesting.

Powerless Against His Feisty Wife

Powerless Against His Feisty Wife

Hugging her, he coaxed, "Alright, I'll stop teasing you. I'll tell you a real joke. One day, an elephant stepped on an ant hill. "The ants were furious and swarmed out of their home, planning to kill the elephant. They crawled toward the elephant's leg, but the elephant shook its leg, and the ants all fell to the ground. "Only one ant successfully climbed up to the elephant's neck. The other ants cheered. They shouted at the ant, 'Great work! You're the best! Strangle it! Strangle it! Strangle it!' "Encouraged by their high spirits, the ant thought that it could strangle the elephant for real. But after searching around the elephant's neck, it turned back to look at its tiny friends on the g

It was one of my favorite books to read in this app, unfortunately the author left the plot hanging. This is a book that deserves to be continued, maybe a second book. The author is very creative with the plot, I just want more and I’m willing to continue my subscription. Please

Frequently Asked Questions

There's this delightful charm in short stories, particularly when humor sneaks in. One gem is 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' by James Thurber. It’s about an everyday man who escapes his mundane life through wild daydreams. Each fantasy is so ridiculous and over-the-top that it leaves you chuckling while also reflecting on the protagonist's dull reality. I adore how Thurber captures that playful imagination; it's like a whimsical journey bound in just a few pages.

Another must-read is 'A Good Man is Hard to Find' by Flannery O'Connor. At first glance, it might not seem strictly comedic, but trust me, the ironic twists in this story keep you on your toes and lead to some unexpected laughs. O'Connor's sharp wit shines through the absurdity of her characters, and you can’t help but cackle at how ridiculous their situations become. It’s a brilliant mix of humor and darkness that leaves you pondering long after you've read it.

Lastly, I can't forget 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' by Douglas Adams. Even though it's technically a novel, it reads like a series of interconnected short stories bursting with ridiculousness. The absurdity of intergalactic travel, combined with dry British humor, makes this one a timeless classic. Just the idea of a towel being the most important thing in the universe is inherently hilarious! This book is perfect for a good laugh and offers so much to revel in every time you flip the pages.
