The Wolf's Game
Aria.
My heart surges painfully. I want to believe it is her.
“Aria?” I whisper, taking a step forward.
She turns, and the hope dies instantly.
Her smile is wrong. It looks too smooth, too knowing, and worst of all, too cruel.
She wears Aria’s face perfectly. The same eyes, same mouth, same curve of cheek, but there is nothing in them. No fire. No grief. No defiance. Just a hollow shell that shows only her hunger for me, for winning, for the Game.
