I am Zeiah, I grew up thinking that everybody around me is ordinary and I am like them, but that's what I thought. I remembered everything, from the growl of that notorious creature, the slashing of the swords, and the explosion, all of it was clear. I close my eyes, quivering into the ideas which my mind could only bear. How I wish everything were just a nightmare. I let out a deep breath and found myself in the middle of nowhere.

As I fingered through the book, with no title, words began to glow and singed onto the worn parchment like magic. Inanna had stirred and I could feel the Lycan blood in me shift, each drop moving and flowing like lava through my veins and my eyes lit up like beacons absorbing the words from the page. It startled me and I dropped the book to the floor. As the thud of the heavy leather hit the floor and echoed throughout the endless room, books started flying off the shelves, pages fluttering towards me in a whirl of turbulence, surrounding me like a twister.

She had been waiting to read the book, but she was interrupted by unfortunate events the previous night. Flipping through the first page, she continued to the prologue where the story began. Arlene was too engrossed with the book that she didn’t notice that she had passed a lot of time. The book contained 30 chapters and she had read fifteen chapters at a go. She stopped reading when she heard her stomach rumble, so she closed the book and checked the time on her phone, it was 4 pm already. She turned on her data to check her i*******m feed and the writer’s forum she was on for updates.

He and his friends smelled like they were coming from the sewer. "What is wrong with you four?" Rasmore asked, holding his nose. For the past month, they had been stuck up in the ancient library without food, water, or baths. Only after they gave up were they willing to come out, but with piles of magic books that they had decided to re-read in case they had left some lines behind. "What happened?" Hashmuk asked, walking towards them. He grabbed Kelvin, checking to see if he was okay, but Kelvin just pushed him away.

Her pregnant belly wouldn’t save her. The SUV began to move and it didn’t help matters, the farther they got away from the warehouse, the more her panic only grew. The warehouse was a safe place. This was how she was going to die, in this suffocating hell, as the cloth only seemed to be closing in on her more and more. Sucking into her mouth and filling her throat which each desperate breath she tried to take.

The words seemed to leap off the page, filling the room with an eerie sense of foreboding. Everything written in the book didn't make any sense to either Stella or Morgan. They found everything in the book quite absurd. The book spoke of witches, dragons, angels, vampires, and the devil. They didn't believe in such a thing at all, weren't they just fantasy? If they were to interpret it, it only meant that Grandma Elizabeth was a witch while the stranger guy whom Stella had picked from the streets the previous night was the devil.

" The Hunger Games. What the heck is this?" I snatched it back from him. " I know because I read the book. However, you have to watch to find out," I say. They nodded. I put in the movie and start it as I sit back down on the couch. By the time the movies are over, they look at me. " You read a book about 24 kids going into an arena and are forced to fight to the death until there's one left?" says Kurt. " Yup. There are three books to the series," I say.

Zoe stared at the book, her fingers hovering over its worn cover, tracing the cracks in the leather and the faint symbols etched into its spine. It felt… alive. Not in a way she could explain, but there was something ancient about it—something that pulsed beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered. The Book of Life, her heart raced, every answer she had been searching for… could be inside.
