She stood against the wall, her gaze alert as she stared at him, and asked a question. "Are you awake?" Hunter said nothing, only feeling something slowly flowing down, warm. He did not raise his hand to touch, his gaze fell on her lips. Her lips were sucked red, with a hint of blood at the corner, left by him. Lena was struck by his gaze, she always felt that the current Hunter was not the Hunter she knew. If the previous Hunter was the epitome of white, then what stands before her now is a mix of black and white, both righteous and evil.

The warm water felt great, erasing the dust on my walk through the pack, relieving my aching muscles. After changing into a comfortable cream-colored dress, I stepped out of the bathroom feeling much lighter. When I entered the bedroom, I found Xander sitting near the window. His dark hair was damped from his own shower. He lifted his gaze from the book in his hand. "There you are." I smiled. "What are you reading?" He carried out the heavy hardcover book. "I found this in Father's old library." As I walked over, curiosity sprung to life in me. "It's about the history of Nightmare Pack."

But the instant he stepped into the quiet house, he sought her.

He is, ahem, well protected.” The screen flickers with internal noise as Xavier straightens in his chair, rage simmering in his jaw. “Protected by what?” he growls. The hunter hesitates. “We don’t know.” “Useless,” Xavier snarls, slamming his fist onto the marble table. “Years of tracking. Funds. Blood. All for nothing?!” The hunter speaks again, clearly shaken. “There’s… something else.” Xavier’s growl deepens.

I sprang to a crouch and lunged forward, just like Burney had taught me and took his legs out from under him. He tried to raise his arm again, but I latched onto it, raking my nails down his skin. He let out a surprised grunt, his winded reflexes sending his pole rolling out of his reach.

Angela mused. All the amusement was wiped off Hunter's face as he turned to glare at his evil little sister. "What is this?" Hunter said pointing at her nose, Angela looked down and he flicked her forehead earning a shriek of pain from her. Angela rubbed her throbbing forehead which had turned bright red as she punched his solid arm only to hurt her fists in response. "Behave," Xander said to Hunter who glared at the steak pondering if it was poisoned or worse; mixed with some magical potion to get him and his family killed.
