Relief was short-lived, replaced by the ice-cold reality of what I’d have to do next. I bolted back to the car, paws digging into the snow as I shifted mid-stride. The icy air burned my lungs as I straightened, pulling my clothes on with shaking hands. My breaths formed clouds around me, but it wasn’t the cold making me tremble. It was adrenaline. I reached into the car and grabbed the bag—the one filled with everything I might need to kill someone like me. Blade soaked in wolfbane, silver-tipped bullets, enough to turn this place into a bloodbath if I had to. But that wasn’t the plan.

Madden followed her behind till she stepped out. He stayed by the door, arms crossed as he watched her go down the mountain. Immediately she went out of sight, he scoffed dryly. "I fucking recognize anything with a pussy when I see one." he muttered slowly, smiling devilishly as he returned to the manor. -- "What the hell!!" Adeline shouted when she got to the forest separating the manor from the clan. The body fell from her shoulder. "I can't believe this! Is he doing this on purpose? Carry a body and give it to the dogs to eat? Damn it! Is he human?" She muttered.

"She is gone. They took her." I stood up from my chair so fast that the heavy wooden seat fell backward onto the stone floor with a loud crash. The entire hall went completely silent. The music stopped playing, and every lord turned to look at the royal table. "Who is gone?" I demanded. "Adeline," Malcolm whispered, looking up at me with terror in his eyes. "Alpha Hilton and his trackers left the castle gates ten minutes ago through the side exits. They found out she was trying to escape, and they are hunting her down right now. They took their hunting hounds and their weapons."

It would be another night of smelling like a mangy wolf when all I wanted to do was chill. “You are going to like this. They are twin wolves. I cried but Darren and Celine already had their mind made up as Darren placed the gun on Adeline’s stomach. “M… mommy.” Adeline cried, staring at me and before I could blink, the sound of gunshots filled the air and the smell of gunpowder followed. Watching with my mouth opened and my eyes wide as Darren dropped Adeline’s lifeless body on the cold, hard ground. “Adeline?” I muttered as I crawled to her side but her face was pale, she wasn’t smiling and her eyes were closed. She was bleeding profusely and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get her to open her eyes. I couldn’t get her to call me ‘mommy’ once again.

It gave him a deep look of contempt and ran towards the forest. Adeline sighed softly. Fortunately, he had just met a hedgehog. If he had met any other wild beasts, he would have been in trouble. Around the date tree, he picked up some wild dates that were almost dried by the wind. After confirming that there was nothing else, he hurried to Sheldon. "Sheldon..." Adeline walked to the place where Sheldon had just rested, but he didn't see him. He shouted anxiously. He shouted a few times, but no one answered.

"Mallory knows I despise activities like hunting or gardening, or anything that is similar to minimal labor. Anyways he had finally captured his prey when arrows shot from the sky. Mallory insisted I should be taken away and the last I saw of my husband he was jumped by individuals who hid their faces.” Adrienne paused and Oliviér took that as a queue to jump in. “I believe this is not the end of the story, Miss Buford?” Adrienne's face had twisted into a sad one making it seem she was upset from the story. Adeline waited, for a moment, and when we finally heard the sound of rustling leaves and snapping branches, our hackles lifted, eyes on full alert as she lowered her mouth to the ground.

Beau, a lean black man with a bald head and sharp eyes, was reclined against the small stage at the front, watching the smaller groups postulate theories about who had taken Bethan.
