Tears freeze on my cheeks as I reach out to touch his cold, lifeless hand, longing for just a moment more in his comforting presence. But there is no warmth left to be found in this desolate landscape, no solace to be gleaned from the endless expanse of white. I am tired, so very tired, of fighting against a world that seems determined to crush me beneath its weight. The pain of loss weighs heavy on my heart, threatening to consume me whole.

Aldrake said, his words shattering her heart. His words sliced through her heart like a thousand shards of glass, each one cutting deeper into her soul. Tears streamed down her face, a torrent of pain and despair that she couldn't contain. She trembled, her entire being shattering under the weight of his cruel words. My mind racing, but can't think straight. The betrayal cut deeper, like a knife to the gut. I feel like I've been punched in the face, but it's not just physical pain. It's like my whole world's been turned upside down. Someone I trusted, someone I...cared about, could do this to me? My eyes burned as my fists clenched to the mug, wanting to hit something, anything. With a crash, the glass shattered cutting my hands yet I felt no pain. But it won't fix nothing. It won't take away the pain as my blood dripped out of my battered hand.

My body is a ruin — bruises blooming black along my ribs, shallow cuts bleeding down my arms. My bare feet are raw, blistered, split open in places, but they keep moving. If I stop, I’ll fall apart. The cold bites in strips, each gust slicing another piece away. But it’s still kinder than the eyes that watched me burn in silence. Kinder than the laughter when I tripped. Kinder than the rocks they threw when no one was looking. Kinder than Kade’s voice when he rejected me — smooth as a blade sliding between my ribs.

The kind that actually made you feel something. I frowned and read the next one. And then the next. Each one was a punch to the gut, laced with quiet longing and sharp, bitter ache. Like whoever wrote it was trying really hard to pretend they weren’t bleeding. I scoffed. Dramatic. Still... the words. “Golden silence behind sharpened teeth.” “Eyes that do not flinch—not even when the whole world does.” “Hands that carry storms and never ask to rest.” My grip on the pages tightened.

“You hurt him for no reason!” Oliver’s expression didn’t change. But his silence said everything. And that silence… Broke something inside her. “I hate you,” she said, her voice shaking with emotion. “You’re disgusting.” For the first time… Those words actually hit him. Not like the others. He smiled showing a full set of his teeth. “Why?” My voice breaks, the hurt coming to the surface as tears cloud my tear duct threatening to spill. “Stop crying when you hurt, I hurt too.” His fingers caged the tear from my tear lid. “I hurt without you and hurt more when you tear up. Don’t cry because I’ll burn this world into ashes, a sullen mud of pitiable debris if one more tear slid down these pretty blue eyes of yours.”
