It hums, whispering secrets only I can hear. My gaze shifts to the book resting atop the altar, its leather cover worn from centuries of use. Bound in the flesh of those who dared defy my ancestors, its pages hold the key to everything I desire. Flipping it open, I find the passage I seek—the Ancient Transfer Ritual. "The power of the hybrid will be mine." The words taste like victory on my tongue. I skim through the ritual, reading every detail with unwavering focus. The process is simple—drain her, consume her essence, and take what should have been mine all along. But there’s a problem.

I tell her. “Yeah?” “Definitely.” “Okay, tomorrow we start self-defense training. Tonight, we watch Underworld!” “Underworld, what’s that?” “A movie with both vampires AND Lycans. That’s werewolves, right.” “Sort of,” I shrug. “Well, they don’t like each other, and I got the distinct impression that vampires and werewolves don’t get along, so …” she says, giving me an excited look while letting her voice trail off.

He gripped the obsidian hilt of the Lunar Dagger so hard his knuckles turned a bloodless white. "Underneath?" Fenris landed beside them, the impact making the rusted metal groan. The massive hybrid’s breathing was a wet, guttural rasp. He wiped a smear of black sludge from his snout, his red-gold eyes narrowing at the dark surface below. "The Drowned District belongs to the Siphoner eels and the Vamps. We’re in a goddamn barrel, and they’re starting to shoot."

Deep beneath the bustling Diamond District lay the "Under-Grid" bar, a hidden spot filled with booming bass and swirling violet mist. In this underground space saturated with the smell of ozone and shady data transactions, those known as the "Unregistered" bartered away their humanity for a chance at prolonging their fragile existence.

Hi everyone! In the interest of not taking away from the dialogue for excessive world-building, I made an index with the rules of this universe. In terms of Gods/Goddesses, I follow Greek mythology, but I’ve also taken pieces from different folklore and added my own twist. Underworld (There are a few realms/subrealms here, so if there's any confusion, let me know, and I will clear it up). Any being in the underworld is immortal but can be killed by ripping its head off and burning the body. They all wield dark magic but have unique powers.
