I Am Enough Poems Novels & Stories

I lie here awake but I’m not one to pray, everything’s changed but now I’m okay. I’m rattled this time, can someone lift my chin, keep my head above water before I’m too deep in. I’ve never had problems, where do I begin, but it’s not a problem because I’m just being human.’ I had always liked poetry and this particular one actually got to me because I felt I could relate to it in a weird kind of way. “Poetry is light, poetry is love. He chuckles out loud while spinning around on the chair like a maniac. Isabelle wakes up from her unconsciousness and slowly tries to sit up. Her body feels so weak, there’s no energy left in her. None at all, to fight or scream out for help. She needs water, she doesn’t remember for how long she hasn’t had a drop of water. “Please, I need water.” She whispers before falling back on the chair completely and losing her consciousness.

I clutched my hand over my chest, trying to make it stop hurting. “Hey! Hey, baby, please stop.” Someone rushed out, I felt their hands wrap around my gram, holding my closely as I sobbed. Do I really deserve this? Did I do something wrong to be constantly cheated and hurt this way? I’ve tried my best to be good. I’ve done everything to be good yet I am not enough. I wasn’t enough for Damien nor am I enough for Adonis. Am I lacking something? Do I lack something?

Hope. A fragile thing. But enough.

She was leaning against the doorframe, frail, but her eyes held nothing but disappointment. The weight of it crushed me. “I just wanted to be yours,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “I just wanted to be enough.” But I was never enough.

Enough! Already ...... enough!
