“—is not who you say she is. You’re trying to wed her to me under false pretenses. Right Alpha Wylder?” The room was deathly silent. My heart hammered in my chest, and I could feel my father’s anxiousness radiating through the air. Darius stepped toward me, his eyes narrowing. “They say the Golden Luna is wolfless.” A collective gasp rippled through the crowd. My knees trembled, my hands cold as ice. This was it; my deepest shame, laid bare for all to see. “Alpha Darius—” “Silence.” Darius boomed, cutting my father off yet again before he turned to me with a chilling smile.

After returning to my apartment, I passed out for a whole day. Early the next morning, Mom's phone call woke me up. "Caroline! I'm begging you! Please bring some money to the hospital! Hailey's condition isn't looking good. She needs surgery right away!" I took a moment to collect myself before replying expressionlessly, "Don't you have any money? My whole life, you've barely spent a dime on me. Every cent I've used, I earned myself. That being the case, there should be plenty of money left, right?"

“Haven’t you noticed? I’m quite charming.” I threw my head back and laughed. “I made her realize how much I loved her daughter. I won’t trade you for anything.” “Not even gold?” I asked. He nudged his nose against mine. “Not even that.” --The End

She holds them up and raises an eyebrow, “Mmmm. So the Dark Lord likes purple, huh?” I snatched the panties out of her hands. “I honestly don’t care what he likes. I’m not trying to impress him...” I shoot a look at Gwen. “Or seduce him. I’m just simply trying to survive a day at a time right now...since life just wants to keep pounding me like a relentless mystical hurricane hellbent on breaking me into a million pieces.” Harley giggles. “That’s a bit dramatic.” I nod. “Dramatic but true.”

He frowned over his empty bowl and did not speak. “I need the dragon’s help,” I pleaded with the golden-haired man. “I need to help the brethren of Uyan Taesil. You cannot even imagine what horrors are being wrought upon them,” I reached across the table and touched his hand. He did not pull away but seemed to freeze under my touch. “Please, Aurien.”

A challenge. A flicker of amusement curved Alaric’s mouth, sharp and dangerous. “Alaric Moore.” The name rippled through the hall like a warning bell. Briarcrest royalty. The heir. The untouchable. And now, by law and ceremony alone, had tied to her. “Congratulations,” Nyx said coolly. “Do you want a medal?” A few students inhaled sharply. Someone laughed, then stopped as if realizing laughter itself might be a punishable offense.

***Hyacinth*** We finally returned to the Philippines, this time to delve into the intricacies of Golden Goose Corp (GGC), my father’s company. The moment we stepped off the plane, the tropical heat hit me like a wall. The sun was relentless, its rays prickling against my skin. I’ve always preferred colder climates, but duty called. As we walked toward the waiting car, I sneezed loudly, the sudden change in temperature catching me off guard. Patricia handed me a tissue with a knowing smile.

He leaned down to whisper in my ear. "I'm fine," I replied. How did I go about explaining that his people seemed to hate me? We got to the end of the small settlement, where a large house stood. Alexander suddenly grabbed my waist and set me down from the horse gently, then he followed suit and came down. "Welcome to the Moon Stone pack." Alexander murmured, his eyes on me, and I forced a smile. I certainly didn't feel welcome.

Right as college acceptance letters went out, my golden boy of a brother, Bill Cyrus, spread a rumor that I stole his spot at Braxton University. His only proof was a single paparazzi shot of me standing outside the university gates. Of course, my parents believed him. To protect Bill's precious reputation, they forced me to take the fall. They even threatened to lock me away in an internet-addiction center for good to erase their embarrassment of their younger son—the one who dropped out and ran wild for a year. Watching my own family line up to tear me apart over one massive lie, the last scrap of hope I had for them shattered completely. I stopped holding back. I watched, ice-cold, a
