Gilded Book Series Novels & Stories

Hey everyone, I just want to thank each and every one of you for reading this series :) I will put the Epilogue up next but then I will be taking a short break from this series before doing Freyja and Belenus’s journeys. The voices still whisper words I don’t understand. “Up here,” Crimson gestures to the empty space I created, but his finger points upwards to the very top shelf. I look around for a ladder before calling for Mathias. He steps down the long row followed closely by Tawny and Althea who watch on with curious eyes. Mathias lifts me up and my fingers brush the book that sends a jolt of sparks down my hand and up my arm. Removing the book, I find a box hidden behind it. “Here,” I say as I pass books down to Crimson while my giant still holds me up.

The Dragon King Lucas Voskopoulos Eighteen fucking months of deep excavation in South America and Egypt. Those were the possible places that the ancient book has referred to. Their hands remained empty. Not even a sliver of dust from the said tomb. It was a fucking needle in huge bundles of haystacks. To add more salt to injury, during his absence, there were raids and thievery on the kingdom's treasury. The renegades and rogues became bolder. Some managed to get away with bars of gold and silver. Though it did not dent his riches, it still irked. A nuisance and it grated on his nerves.

But he wouldn’t use his magic for evil things for sure. Enkille continued eating. She stood up after drinking a glass of red wine. “By the way, where is the book you brought from the Golden Palace?” “Ah, yes. The book,” he suddenly remembered. Eleand quickly went to his bedroom and got the book. The inscriptions of the ancient alphabet were peculiar. He didn’t pay much attention to it recently. His priorities were the books from Enkille. “Here it is,” he passed the book to her hand.

He asks, “While you think of something to choose, I’m gonna get something. Stay here.” Goldie watches Darryl walk away from him. He stands still for a moment, before looking at the books that surrounded him. He notices a book that is not much bigger than his hand. The cover is simple, with nothing but the illustration of red circles within a circle at the bottom half, and the name “Dante” written on the top half. He picks it up and inspects it, trying to read other words on the back of the book. He was able to process some of the words, but could not understand the whole paragraph.

She hadn’t had an interest in exploring that section of the room before. Now she looked at the polished red bookshelves warily. Every book was handsomely bound, and many of them had gilt lettering. Normally that was a turnoff for her, because she always figured those kind of books were boring old classics. Deprived of her TV, however, she was willing to investigate closer.

"I could stay here all day." After a few minutes of wondering, she reached the very end of the maze. It was a golden bookshelf. The sight of gold made her roll her eyes. She really hopes that all these are fake gold, or else she might lose her mind or use her little hair clip to chip the back of this bookcase a bit and bring the shavings back home. "Even a book?" She chuckled when a golden book caught her attention. Sure, it was black. But who would title their book, "Golden Goldie Gold"?

" 'What she gave me?' I thought, annoyed. The watch she gave me was a cheap fake, rusted and gone for who knew how many years. This watch was from my wife, Rowena Smith, who knew I loved that collection. She designed it herself and had it custom-made half a year in advance, a one-of-a-kind in the world. I was at a loss for words. "Take a good look at these diamonds. You think you can afford any of them? "This is a gift from my wife, and it's got nothing to do with you." The diamonds sparkled with an unmistakable high-end shine. Then, Henry yanked the watch off my wrist, his sneer widening.

“I will leave these for you to read through so you can see her descension into black magic and maybe one of you can pick up on anything we might have missed. I have magically blurred the pages which deal with straight black magic; those spells and locations on ingredients are not things we need just anyone to read about or have access to. My circle and I have already hunted down several persons of interest mentioned in here, but we have several more to go.” I look over at the books again and one seems to be different than the others. It has a light glow about it, and it sounds like it’s whispering to me. I feel compelled to hold it and read it. Giselle looks over at me then back at the book
