The moonlight glinted off their face, and my breath caught in my throat. It was me. Or rather… a darker incarnation of myself. Eyes as black as pitch. An aura oozing with corruption. A reflection devoid of a soul. My heart pounded against my ribs. “No… no, this cannot be real.” Shadow-Me inclined her head, a frigid smirk curling her lips as if she relished my astonishment. “You ought to run,” she whispered, her voice a haunting echo of my own. “But you won’t. The chain that's attached to was engraved with eccentric designs up and down the chain. It was breathtaking and I loved it. I put it around my neck and looked at myself in the cracked mirror.
