I Knew The Bride Novels & Stories

Everything had changed. As I wore the wedding gown Luca had picked out for me, my cousin's child came running over with an olive branch. "Aunt Giada, Uncle Luca told me to bring this to you!" I reached out and took it, only to see a note attached. "Giada, I know you're about to become my bride, but it still feels unreal. It's as if this is all a dream—and when I wake, I'll still be the one standing on the university field, secretly watching you walk beside Carlo."

He told us that my heart beat faster because of the nervousness and the next thing I knew, Kent, Kenzo, Jiro, Mom, Dad, Manang Rene and I we're all here at the hospital. "Oh yeah, it's just crazy Kenzo and I are really busy. You know that in two weeks' time we will get married." He nodded at what I said. "So have you fitted your gown yet?" Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I chose Aria to be my bride's maid. "Yes, yesterday and it fit perfectly." He answered happily. "That's nice, so what's up?" I asked him.

Someone near the string quartet said the groom's name like it was a headline already, and it was — Billionaire Ace Stone's Secret Kiss, Six Days Before I Do — spreading through phones faster than the string quartet could finish their song. The bride found out at the altar. I watched it happen from thirty feet away, the exact way you watch a car crash you can't stop — Cassandra Harrington's face going from radiant to ash in under four seconds, her mother's hand flying to her mouth, four hundred guests suddenly very interested in their own laps. Cassandra didn't cry. She laughed — one short, ugly bark of it — and turned to find whoever the woman in that video was. She found me first. I don't k

“We’ll pick you up tomorrow at 9 AM sharp for your engagement prep. Be ready.” I gulped. Ready? I don’t think I ever will be. Game on, Lyka. Let the masquerade begin. DAYS PASSED by unnoticed. Here I am now inside the house, nervously waiting. Today’s the day I’ll finally meet the man I’m supposed to marry. Auntie Helen told me Kyran would pick me up personally, but he’ll ride in a different car with his staff. “Just be yourself, darling,” Mommy Helen said gently. Mommy. I have to get used to calling auntie Helen Mommy now since I’m pretending to be Kyla. I gave her a small smile.

She opened her mouth to speak but I didn't notice that and spoke over her. “Will you marry me Miss Odessa Vale?” She closed her mouth slowly and stared at the diamond ring in front of her. “Oh shit, I didn't kneel” I quickly got on one knee. The whole restaurant was staring, people were bringing their phones out to record. Silly me had forgotten how famous we were. She kept staring at the ring and at me. The silence was getting uncomfortable and I was ready to take whatever answer she gave. “Yes, yes I'll marry you Ricardo” she slid her fingers into the ring I was holding, with a beautiful wide smile.

But I could barely see him as a result of my thick veil. If not for father, I bet I would have missed my step and fallen flat on my face. As I neared the alter, I began getting a clearer vision of my groom which seized my breath. His face was distinct, oddly familiar the more closer I got to him. It seemed like I had seen him before. Fear infused itself in me the moment I stepped on the alter. "My beautiful bride, I have been waiting for you" he lowly said, pulling of my veil. At that fleeting moment, my jaws went unhinged and ajar as I stared right at him.

My fiancé, Everett Prescott, spent five whole years designing my wedding dress, and it finally arrived today. Except I couldn't zip it up. It stayed wide open until my best friend, Sienna Hart, slipped into the dress perfectly. The fabric hugged her curves like a second skin. She turned to my fiancé with an exasperated sigh. "Everett, are you serious? You got Leah’s size wrong. Again." My blood ran cold. Over the five years Everett and I had been together, this wasn't the first time he'd conveniently forgotten my measurements. When he bought me pajamas that were a size too small, he just blinked, flashing that easy grin of his. "Oh, wait. I think this is Sienna's size, right? Let's j

Rose kept chewing her lower lip in stress. Kingsley signed without any qualms. He stepped back and presented the pen to Rose. She hesitated. But now everyone has seen her face. She could hear people murmuring. Almost everyone knew that the bride was going to be Vanessa. Only a few knew that the bride would be Rose. And only a few knew that replacing the bride was their idea; they just planted everything in Ursa’s mind.

The day I caught Joel Kemper in bed with another woman, she slashed up her own face. Joel pulled her tightly into his arms, refusing to let me see her no matter how hysterical I got. His eyes were bloodshot as he looked at me. "This is all my fault, Valerie. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you. I'm begging you. Don't go after her." After that day, Joel gave up every shred of privacy. He handed over his phone every day and even installed hidden cameras throughout his car. If a female patient so much as texted him, I would question him over and over, and he never once complained. He went along with everything, asking only that I take him back. Then, three days before our we

I muttered under my breath, but my body stiffened the moment my eyes landed on the names of the couple. Especially the bride's name. Jessica Vance.
